I walked around the block, feeling bored and I found a place that name Joe's Cafe.
It was small but packed and I found myself a seat. I felt awkward and uncomfortable but I wanted to try going to a place by myself.
I've been eyeing this cafe since Aarav told me it's a place that sells coffee and pastry. I was interested in how it works.
"Hi! How can I help you?" A girl with pink hair came to me with a menu and I cracked a small smile, staring at it.
"Can I get the Hazelnut Latte? And that." I said pointing at the pastry I see from here and she looked at her back.
"You'll need to choose from there and I'll bring it to you."
"Oh? Okay, thank you." I said getting down from my seat, gripping on my sling bag and went to the pastry section.
I stared at the display, wanting to get something later for Aarav.
"Excuse me?" I called and a guy came, making me so uncomfortable but I tried my best to stay calm. I still haven't get used to interacting by myself.
And a guy besides Aarav makes me feel uneasy.
"Hi! What can I get you?" He asked with a smile and I pointed at the croissant and a brownie.
I know these since I use to make in my father's kitchen. I could say I know everything.
"Alright, anything else?"
"Can I get these for takeaway please?" I pointed at a sausage puff and a pizza bread. He nodded, glancing at me with a smile.
"Thank you." I said with a small smile and got back to my seat.
I stared outside the window, looking at the busy street and I took my phone out, taking a picture.
It looked so pretty and I looked at the clock, not wanting to go home late.
"Here, miss." The girl came to me, putting on my table and I cracked a smile, saying thank you.
I almost took a bite but everyone was taking pictures of what they were eating. Is it necessary?
I just ate it, staring out the window and I shrunk my eyebrows, feeling a bitter aftertaste in the brownies.
Is this how it suppose to taste like?
I tried the croissant and it had no butter taste at all, making me feel more weird. It should be buttery but I shouldn't complain.
I should be grateful for what I get, so I was eating by myself.
"How is the pastries? You've been frowning." The guy from behind the counter came and I looked up at him, glancing at his name tag.
"I'm Joe." He said with a smile and I cracked a small smile at him.
"I'm Ira and this is- I'm sorry for complaining but the brownies are bitter and croissants is soggy." I mumbled, glancing at him and he sighed, sitting in front of me.
"I've been trying to get those right. It's so hard!" He whined and I stared at him, feeling a little awkward that he just sat in front of me.
