Chapter 22

Tony went over the recordings of the exterior of the compound. Having Jarvis run different programs to see how Hydra got in. The team started to crowd into the conference room as Tony watched Hydra scale the wall on the recording.

He finally turned around to see everyone in the room, "Look." He pointed to the screen behind him, "They must have jammed the signal, but they couldn't hold it for long. See how it knocks everything out and then the power comes back on around the retaining wall."

Sam took a closer look, "Well, that's not as bad as I thought it would be. How's the dome around the area hold up to something like this?"

Tony smiled, "Totally different system. I'll have it up for a few days but I don't think we're going to need it. Looks like Hydra understands we have all the power."

Emma whispered under her breath, "That's why they came after me."

Bucky and Steve heard her words even thought they were low and only intended for her to hear.

Steve looked at her, "Emma. Hydra can try all they want. They aren't going to be able to capture you. Especially with your powers."

Wanda smiled, "Honey, with those powers, no one is going to be able to harm you."

"What if they do? What if they come and take one of you in exchange for me? Then what?" Emma asked with tears, "I can't let them do that."

Tony cleared his throat, "Clearly, they want you back. Maybe to work for them. Maybe to harness your power. But either way, Emma, you need to believe in yourself. You are the strongest person in this room, next to Wanda of course. The both of you could take out all of Hydra if you wanted to."

Wanda smiled, "Maybe we should do just that."

Everyone turned to look at her. Nat knew what she meant, "You want to walk right into their base and take them out. You and Emma."

Wanda looked like she was thinking as she got up to pace the room. She knew it was crazy but it could work. She looked over at Emma and entered her mind to have a private conversation, "What do you think, Emma? We could end this mess once and for all."

Emma cocked her head as she thought and then answered her, "We could. Maybe a little more training wouldn't hurt."

Wanda looked at Tony, "What if we do that? What if Emma and I show up at their hide out and end it all. We could do it. When Emma and I used our magic together, we created an impenetrable shield. I'm sure that's just the start of what we can do together."

Everyone sat there quietly and looked between Tony and Wanda.

Emma finally broke the silence, "I think Wanda and I can pull this off."

Tony raised an eyebrow and gave Wanda a stern look, "I'm not saying yes. However, it's a good idea."

Bucky stood up in protest, "No. I can't watch you just walk in and take this chance."

Steve saw how hurt Emma was, but he knew Bucky. He was scared to lose Emma after recently finding her again.

"Buck." Steve got his attention, "I think the girls can handle this."

Bucky walked out of the conference room without looking at anyone else. Emma didn't even get a chance to call his name. He stormed out in a hurry.

Emma looked at Wanda and spoke to her without anyone hearing, "What did I do?"

Wanda gave her a caring look and replied in their minds, "Nothing. He loves you and doesn't want you to get hurt."

Tony looked at the team, "Do we have an absolute lock on this Hydra base?"
