Chapter 20

After a week of training with Wanda, Emma could feel herself becoming stronger and happier. Not only with her powers, but mentally and emotionally.

Wanda taught her how to enter other people's minds, and how to block others from getting into hers. Wanda also taught her how to shut out the conversations that fill the air from random people around her. She didn't want Emma hearing every thought from every single person 24/7.

Emma was able to learn everything Wanda taught her, except tuning out one voice. Bucky's. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't stop hearing his thoughts.

"Wanda. I don't understand. Why is this happening? I'm doing everything you've taught me, but Bucky's thoughts are always there." Emma paced her bedroom as Wanda sat on the bed. They were going to have a girl's night. They were waiting on Nat to show up with the popcorn and candy.

"I'm not sure. I know you two have an emotional connection unlike anything I've ever witness. Perhaps it has to do with that." Wanda pattered the bed, "Come sit."

Nat busted in the room holding tons of snacks and popcorn, "Hold on. I've got more." She stepped back into the hallway and grabbed drinks for them.

"Nat! You should have said you needed help!" Emma chuckled as she watched Nat running in and out of the room to grab things.

"I've got it. No big deal." Nat jumped on the bed next to the other two girls, "What are we watching?" Nat left the door open slightly.

"Live action Cinderella!" Wanda exclaimed excitedly.

The girls sat back on the bed and turned down the lights. The movie came on as the door to her bedroom flew open.

Steve was standing there, "Um, why wasn't I invited?"

They all laughed, "It's girls' night!"

Then he saw the movie start, "Oh come on, I haven't seen this one and you know I'm trying to catch up on everything I've missed."

"That was a good guilt trip, Cap. Come on climb in," I laughed as I moved over.

Steve tucked himself besides Nat as the movie got going, but not even a second later Bucky walked in, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I forgot it was girl's night. I'll get going," Bucky got a glimpse of Steve, "Hey! Why do you get to stay?"

"I haven't seen this one," Steve laughs.

"Neither have I!" Bucky jumped between Nat and Emma. He grabbed Emma and slipped behind her. She cuddled into his chest and then looked at Wanda, "Should I be expecting anyone else?"

Wanda laughed, "Yeah. I'm sure Sam will be here any second."

"What's going on, Guys?" Sam said loudly, "I think you forgot my invite. Move over witchy women. Give me some bed."

Everyone laughed and cuddled really close as they finally got to watch the movie. Nat was the first to fall asleep as she cuddled onto Steve's chest. Wanda started drifting off but fought every droopy eye. Emma was next. She leaned her head on his chest and she knew she was a goner. Falling asleep on Bucky's chest brought a comfort to her. She knew she was safe with him so sleeping next to him was easy. As the movie came to an end Steve pick-up Nat and said goodnight. Wanda quietly crawled off the bed with the help of Sam. She quietly sad goodnight to Bucky. They closed the door behind them, and Bucky wrapped his arms around Emma. She snuggled further into his chest and then shot right up in a panic.

"What happened?"

Bucky chuckled, "You fell asleep. The movies over."

"Oh, man! I love that movie."

"We can watch it tomorrow if you want."

"Yes, please."

Emma and Bucky got comfortable in the bed. "Emma," Bucky sweetly whispered her name, "it's been a little more than two days since I asked you to stay."

"Yeah?"

"Do you still want to run?" Bucky waited for an answer.

"No. Plus, I'd have to figure out how to bring this amazing super soldier with me. I don't think he'd fit into my suitcase."

Bucky chuckled at her playfulness, "Even if I did fit, I don't think you'd be able to roll me away."

Emma had a moment of seriousness run through her, "Bucky, I can't leave you. You mean too much to me."

"Emma, if you ever want to run again, tell me first."

"Would you come with me?" Emma asked.

"I would," Bucky held her a little tighter, "I'd follow you anywhere you went."

"Good to know," Emma held onto his arm a little tighter, "I'm not going anywhere, Buck. Just so you know."

"Good. Would you like to work out with me tomorrow?" Bucky nuzzled his nose into her neck.

"That sounds like fun," Emma closed her eyes, "Bucky, can you sing me that Russian lullaby?"

"Of course, Doll."
