Anakin walked into the kitchen tiredly, still wiping the sleep out of his bleary blue eyes. His mind swirled with a menagerie of thoughts leaping from one to the next constantly - vague scenes from the strange dream he'd just had which in part involved Padme and Siri Tachi babysitting Ric Olie's child, his former master, Watto, strapped into a speederseat, and Chi Eekway finding him living at Padme's apartment and, of course, the staggering revelation of the day prior in which his other former master, Obi-Wan, had divulged the true nature of his relationship to fellow Jedi, Siri.

Grabbing a fresh pallie from the bowl on the counter and sliding onto one of the stools, Anakin couldn't help but sigh in frustration. He had no right to be angry about Obi-Wan's secret - it's not as if he hadn't done the exact same thing himself by marrying Padme on Naboo all those years ago. But just the thought that his very own master could lie to him left him devastated...and, of course, feeling like a hypocrite at the same time. It was a confusing feeling, not really knowing how to feel about it all...

Directly after Obi-Wan had confided in him, Anakin felt compelled to do the same but held back. How exactly could he tell his master that he had kept this from him for years? After all, Obi-Wan just married Siri - it wasn't as if it had been a secret for long, right? Still shocking considering his persistent pestering of Anakin about the "Jedi Code", however.

In fact, he was meeting up with him later today. Apparently, he had more surprise news. And judging by the look on his former master's face as he said this, it must be happy news. Yet would he be so happy when Anakin finally fessed up to his own secret? What if Obi-Wan felt hurt and got angry with him? Angry enough perhaps to severe their friendship? After all, they were not mandated or assigned to accompany each other on missions so often as they did. It was a request of their own of the Jedi Council as well as the Council's own satisfaction with their completion of the missions.

Anakin took a bite of his pallie and chewed slowly in contemplation just as Padme walked into the kitchen, bedecked in her Senatorial robes and signature handmade Nubian jewels. She was headed to work on her day off to go retrieve her spare key to their apartment which she had forgotten there. Apparently, she felt the need to dress up just for that.

"Alright, Anakin, I'll be back in a bit. It shouldn't take long, I believe I left it on the-" she started to say, lost in her own thoughts when her brown eyes locked on Anakin sitting there at the counter, "Ani? What's wrong?"

She walked over to him, putting a hand on his back gently just as he looked away from her.

"Nothing, nothing, it's fine. You go on to work,"

Concern was etched in her angelic face. The disturbed expression he wore betrayed his own troubled thoughts it seems for Padme as always saw through his words to the heart of the matter. Her hand moved to squeeze his arm in a reassuring manner.

"Ani, I know this is hard. But Obi-Wan deserves to know the truth. It's what you worried about so much before and now you don't have to. We can trust him."

Anakin's blue eyes locked on his wife's warm brown gaze, taking slight comfort in her words. He knew she was right, of course. Obi-Wan had not only been his master but his best friend for these twelve long years. If he could trust anyone with his secret, it would be him.

Wrapping his arms around his wife's waist and pulling her close, he pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek. He mumbled sweet nothings against her skin before letting her go. In minutes, she was gone to the Senate and he was on his way to Dex's Diner to meet up with his mentor. It wasn't the most private place in Coruscant but had far less prying eyes and ears than the Jedi Temple.

His cloak swished on the floor underneath his feet as he swept into the diner, the lingering smell in the air of frying nuna legs and ahrisa mixing together in a scent that smelled delicious to the Jedi Knight. His eyes searched the restaurant until they landed on his smiling friend, waving him over to a booth in the back. Winding his way through the crowds of people and aliens alike, he finally made his way to Obi-Wan and took the seat across from him.

"I'm glad you could meet me here. Another cup of Jawa Juice, please!" he greeted him before directing this last comment to the droid waitress zipping by.

Anakin studied his former master for any hint of why he had brought him here but as always, Obi-Wan was a closed book, his face totally unreadable other than the joyous glow of his aqua-blue eyes. Finally, Anakin decided it was time. He was about to open his mouth to speak when evidently, his friend could not contain his happiness a moment longer.

"Anakin, I have great news! Well, Siri and I have great news... She is pregnant with my child. I'm going to be a father!" Obi-Wan confessed with a grin that was uncharacteristic but in the best way.

Anakin, however, was stunned by his mentor's news and stared at him a moment, his mouth agape. It wasn't until the waitress arrived with his Jawa Juice did he finally find the words to speak.

"I...I don't know what to say. That's-that's wonderful news, master," he stumbled over his words, a smile finding his face despite himself.

It didn't even register with Anakin nor did it seem to bother Obi-Wan that he had called him master even though he was no longer. The two friends smiled back at each other, chatting amiably before ultimately, it was time for Anakin to speak.

"Obi-Wan, I...I don't know how to..." he took a deep breath then and started over, "I actually have happy news of my own...but I'm...I'm not sure you'll be quite as happy for me. You see...I've had news for a long time now and I haven't shared it with you..."

Obi-Wan's smile faltered only slightly and he urged his former apprentice to continue, "Please, go on..."

Anakin was silent a moment, struggling to get the words past his lips. But it was too late to turn back now. Besides, Obi-Wan himself had defied the Jedi Order by marrying Siri. Surely, he wouldn't begrudge his friend the same happiness?

"Padme and I are married."

The words fell like a hand grenade going off, the smile melting from Obi-Wan's face in a moment of pure shock. Clearly, this was not the news he was expecting.

"How...how long?"

"Two years. We married on Naboo, just before the Clone Wars began."

Silence reigned supreme in the small booth, the background noise of chatter from other customers in the diner the only sound to be heard. Clearly, they were oblivious to the shift in mood. But suddenly, just as Anakin's stomach began to clench and twist in nervous anxiety, something truly miraculous happened. A smile began to tug at the corners of his mentor's mouth, a gesture that was contagious it seems as one began to tug at his own.

"It looks like we'll have joint anniversaries then, my very young apprentice."
