Welcome Back (Part 20)

Suddenly a demon attacked Tomioka from the back,he dodged it barely and went into a fighting stance. He took out his katana and prepared to fight. Suddenly four demons arrived and teamed up with the one that attacked Tomioka and they all attacked him at once... "Why are there five? I thought they hunt alone?" Tomioka thought while decapitating the demons. After the five demons four more came to attack, he has no choice so used his water breathing to attack faster. "Water breathing third form: flowing dance..." He whispered in his head. Then killed all four in under a minute. "Are there more?" He thought.

After he successfully killed nine there were still three hiding from him, waiting patiently for a perfect opening to attack. Then two of them came to attack Tomioka, he felt and striked with "Water breathing second form: water wheel.." Now there was only one left. He focused and tried to look for its presence yet it was gone.. he decided to look for it till' daybreak.

He ran towards the faint presence and saw nothing he ran faster and faster then he was a demon running, he takes his katana out and ran a bit faster and finally decapitated the last demon's head. "That was the last one.." He thought while sighing.

-after a few minutes-

He was now in front of the inn, he was a bit bloody because of the demons so he entered and went straight to his room. He cleaned himself, and he dressed properly he then went to a close by shop to eat.

After he ate he went back to the inn and took his rest after defeating those demons. Things went the same for the next 3 days, killed demons, rest, eat and sleep. He suddenly felt the urge to mesmorize the face of a certain someone. "I miss her," Tomioka accidentally said under his breath and was heard by the wife's owner, therefore the landlady. "Oh? You are married?" She asks. Tomioka was stunned by the question. "No.. not yet." He then offers the lady a seat to sit so that they could continue their conversation without any sort of problem. "Is it a young lady near here?" The landlady starts asking questions and eagerly waiting for the mans response. "Well, not that close. But she is a young lady about a year or more before me." Tomioka was getting comfortable with the environment. "Why haven't you asked for her hand in marriage? It is clear to me that you love truly. Are her parents perhaps strict?" The ladylady made a confused face.

"Well, she lost her parent a few weeks ago. She is still mourning for them. And do i... really look like I have fallen in love?" Tomioka asks thinking about a lot of things while waiting for the reply, "Well for me it is as clear as day that you have fallen in love and it adds up because you miss her." The landlady then smiles. "Take your chance son, you may never have this opportunity again." She added then left with a smile leaving Tomioka drowning in his own thoughts.

-With Y/n-

It has been a few days since Tomioka left, day by day Y/n could do nothing but worry. "Have you heard word about Tomioka-san?" She asks in a worried tone. "No, not yet but remain calm y/n-chan it is normal for us Hashiras to receive missions that would take a while to finish." Shinobu said reassuring the worried demon in front of her. "Okay, I trust you." She said and went to the special room to wait patiently for a certain someone to come back.

"When will he come back?" Y/n sighs after whispering to herself. Someone then came in her room, it was Shinobu. "Shinobu-chan, would it feel better if i confess to Tomioka-san? I mean I-i don't intend to steal him away from you, but i can't hide this forever. I may be a demon, but i too have my own limitations set for me." She says to the Hashira feeling a hint of guilt. 'I shouldn't have told her, now she's gonna throw me out of her mansion!' She added to her overthinking brain as if it wasn't full of worries about Tomioka.

Suddenly Shinobu bursts out with chuckles as she was saying. "D-did you really thi-think i would like a lonesome man like him? I'd rather Date Rengoku-san even if he has friends." Shinobu said with chuckles leveled up to laughing. "You don't like him? Does that mean he loves someone else?" Y/n asks in confusion and curiosity. "Silly girl, just wait and him personally. If you ask a man who he loves, he will tell you the truth and many more, that is if he really is attached to that someone." That was all Shinobu could reply. "Okay I'll wait!" She said happily.

As days pass by Tomioka left the Village and went into a train to go back to the Headquarters for the contents of his mission. But what is all about that?

As soon as he arrived he went to the Master and told him the contents of the mission. "And that is all i could report from that specific village Master." Tomioka said while bowing to pay his respects. "Ahh i see, then you should go and take a rest, get your strength back and save more humans that many demons would be afraid of facing an actual Hashira." He soon then left. "You're quick to leave, she's been waiting." A Hashira, namely the Butterfly Hashira came. "Kocho, how is she?" Tomioka asks. "The moment you see me you ask about her, how about you ask her personally, i thought you were in a rush." She said then started to leave, "wait..the flower that you needed was super rare, good thing i came at the right time. Here." Tomioka then gives the flower to Shinobu. "Thanks" was all she replied and left. "You should really go now, she's in a bad condition." It was Shinobu's last words after she completely disappeared from Tomioka's sight. Everything was happening too sudden, yet. He didn't hesitate and ran towards the mansion where the love of his life was located.

The moment he entered, it was quiet. Too quiet perhaps. He looked through every room, he found no one. The last room was the special room for those demons who have held on to their humanity. He went inside and found her, curled up in a corner. He felt as if he was stung to the heart, something was wrong. "H-hey.." Tomioka says. Y/n looked at him teary eyed and yelled. "Wow now i can create vivid hallucinations? I must really miss him to think he'd actually show up in the worst time possible." Tears then started to fall down her eyes. Upon wiping them off Tomioka said, "It's me, I came back from my mission." He says, assuring her. "So, you are Tomioka-san?" She asks, and was replied with a nod. "Then, Welcome back. I missed you." Y/n says while giving Tomioka a big hug. He hugged back and said. "Thank you."
