"I already have a son."
"Haha, what a funny joke Kongpob." said M sarcastically.
"I'm not joking."
"You think I'm so stupid that I'd believe your ridiculous story? Even if you already have a child, I don't think you need to move to a far-away place like this?"
After yesterday's incident, Kongpob finally decided to tell M the truth. He felt bad that he had to keep Arka's whereabouts hidden from his friends, especially M, his closest friend since junior high school.
Therefore, when he found out that M hadn't returned to the city, Kongpob invited him to meet again at the same cafe after his internship. The problem was that, his old friend didn't believe what Kongpob was saying.
"Do you want me to show you a picture of my son?"
"Show it."
Kongpob reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a phone. He searched for Arka's picture and showed it to his friend.
"Hahaha. You're really funny Kongpob." M laughed out loud, Kongpob didn't understand what was so funny.
"But by the way, I didn't expect you to have feelings for P'Arthit still, you're the loyal type, huh?" M continued.
"Huh?"
"That picture, isn't it P'Arthit childhood picture? You can't fool me Kongpob."
Oh my god!
"Whatever you say M, I've told you the truth. Then I'll take my leave, I have to pick up my son, it's late."
"You're still with that kid joke of yours?"
"Want to meet my son? So that you can believe me?"
"Okay! Let's go!"
The two now left for Arka's daycare. M, who took Kongpob's words as a joke, didn't pay much attention to their journey. During the trip, he only focused on his phone. Replying to messages from someone far away. It wasn't until the two of them stood in front of a daycare that M finally realized.
"Kongpob? We really came here? Whose kid you're going to pick up?"
"Of course I pick up my son."
"Papa!" Arka ran over and enthusiastically hugged his papa's leg. Seeing someone besides his dad, Arka glanced at M briefly, then back at his Papa. "Uncle didn't come today, Pa?"
"He has to work, dear. Here, Papa wants to introduce Arka to Papa's friend."
M, on the other hand, was rooted to the spot. His jaw hit the ground the moment he saw a child coming out of the door, then calling his best friend 'Papa'. Not only that, the child's face which he thought looked a lot like one of his seniors, also did not help him.
So, what Kongpob said wasn't a joke?
Now M didn't know what to do. Even when the child started introducing himself, M still couldn't do anything. His eyes kept looking the little boy up and down as if he was unsure whether this child was really his friend's son or not.
Arka, who felt uncomfortable being stared at like that, began to protest, "Papa! What's wrong with this uncle?"
"I don't know." Kongpob chuckled, M's expression was very funny to him. "Shall we go home? Do you want to buy something before going home?"
"Nothing. Arka just wants to go home."
"That's strange. Did you have fun today?"
"Arka made a flower vase!"
