One and Only

Jake's POV

"I don't know who that is." I said in a calm voice. I wasn't going to let a random man hurt my new best friend. "Bullshit." He said. Then he pointed his gun down and shot my foot. I looked down to see my shoe filling with blood. Then, everything went black.

Sam's POV

I heard Jake say "Who are you?". I had the same question buzzing around my head. I stood up and started cautiously walking towards Jake.
"Sam. What are you doing?" I heard Colby quietly say behind me. I ignored him tho. "Sam?" Echo said in a shaky voice. I looked behind me and saw the fear painted on her face. Then I heard a gunshot. When I looked back at Jake, he was falling to the ground. "JAKE?!" I screamed, running towards him. I fell to my knees beside him, searching his body for any gunshot wounds. Then, I heard the click of a gun right next to my head. I looked at the door and saw a homeless looking man standing there, pointing a gun at my head. "What do you want?" I ask him, my voice cracking. "Echo." He said in a low raspy voice. "No." I said with more confidence then intended. I wasn't going to let some random guy hurt my new best friend. He shot at me, but missed. I took this as an opportunity and fell back, pretending to get shot. The back of my head smacked the floor hard. It hurt but I didn't make a sound. I had to make it as believable as possible. As he walked further inside, I cracked open my eyes to see his back was facing me. I quickly pulled out my phone and texted Colby.

Sam: Take Echo and go as far away as possible. I'll call the cops.

Colby: Why?

Sam: Now.

After texting Colby, I called the cops. I whispered to them the address and explained the situation while the man with the gun walked around the other side of the trampoline park, looking for Echo. A few minutes later, I heard the sirens. The man with the gun started booking it towards the door, but before he could leave he was stopped by about 5 cops, all pointed there guns at his chest and head.
