Chapter 7

Marami na siyang narinig dati na kagaya ng kwento ni Cinderella, ang babaeng umahon sa hirap dahil nakahanap ng prince charming niya. Pero uso lang ang kwentong iyon sa mga babae. Hindi naman niya alam na mangyayari din pala sa isang tulad niya ang mga nangyari kay Cinderella.

Ngayon andito siya sa harap ng malaking mansion na pinapalibutan ng maraming bodyguards kasama ang kanyang nakababatang kapatid na si Ayesha. Naglalakihan pa ang mga katawan ng mga bodyguard at halatang hindi mga basta-basta lang.

"Señorito, Akiro, I'll guide you to your room now." Ani ni Adam sa kanya habang makasunod dito ang mga maids na siyang may hawak ng gamit niya.

"Where is she?" Tanong niya kay Adam. Mula kasi nang ma discharge siya sa hospital ay di niya pa ito nakikita.

"The Madam is in her company. She'll be home before dinner and told me to assist you and your sister's necessities."

Nakita niyang inalalayan ng isang maid ang bunso niyang kapatid saka napabuntong-hininga nalang. He succeeded in his plan na akala niyang pumalpak na. And now, he is freed from their debt but there are consequences that he needs to face.

Pride doesn't really matter to him lalo na sa mga nangyari sa kanya. It's better to be in the hands of Patricia than to risk his and his sister's life. Kunting-kunti nalang kasi at mapupunta na sa kapatid niya ang atensiyon ng mga pinagkaka-utangan nila. He knows that the world ain't kind for them to live in peace when there are people who are bad enough to put them into the mud, and it's better to take a risk than to ruin his sister's life. He can't take that.

And now, he's no longer an Arcedez but an Alvarez. Akiro Arcedez-Alvarez is his new name and soon-to-be-married to Patricia Faust. He is Rafael Alvarez former husband of Patricia's adopted child.

He signed a contract to accept their demands in exchange for paying their debt. It says that he will be an Alvarez and will be the one and only heir to the Alvarez Corporation and Faust Group of Hotels and Restaurants. See? From debtor to heir real quick, and there are a lot of benefits coming from there. He can go back to school now, and his sister's tuition will be free until she graduates from college. And not only that... Because now, he can be with Patricia more as her husband. Although, being an Alvarez is not in his plan, but he understands how Patricia values her former husband's surname. He doesn't want to be the villain who erases the trace of her former family just because he wants to be part of her life now. Besides, as he promised before... He will take care of her and make her happy. He will build a new family for her.

He smiled at that thoughts because his seeds understand their assignment and does not disappoint him, and now it's growing inside their mother's womb.

A couple of hours after they arrive at the mansion, Akiro becomes busy with the papers Adam gives him to review. It was about the history of Alvarez and Faust Company and the people around them.

"Kuya, gusto mo?" Pang-aalok ng magaling niyang kapatid sa kanya habang ngumunguya ng cookies.

"Saan mo naman nakuha yan?" Aniya dito.

"Sa kusina, bigay ni Ate Enday. Ang sarap nga e. Gusto ko ring mag bake ng mga ganito kaso di ako marunong."  Ani ng kapatid habang ngumunguya pa.

"Do you want to learn how to bake, Young Lady?" Adam asked his sister and she gleamed with that.

"Yes po, Manong Adam. Pwede po ba?" Excited na tanong nito.

"Of course, Young Lady. Pwede ka magpaturo kay Enday ng mga basics sa pagbe-bake. She's a chef, so you will learn a lot from her."

"Really? Really? She's a chef?" Natutuwang tumalon-talon pa ito sa harap nila ni Adam.

"Yes, Young Lady. Just go asks her." Ngumiti si Adam sa kapatid na agad din namang tumakbo sa kusina bitbit ang kinakain nitong cookies.

Napa-iling nalang siya sa inasal ng kapatid at ibinalik sa binabasa ang pansin.

"Based on the Young Lady's act, it looks like you will have a future Chef as your sister, Señorito." Napalingon siya kay Adam dahil sa sinabi nito.

"Maybe you're right. She always cooks for me. I'm afraid it develops because of our poor circumstances, but I know she loves cooking much." He said.

"That's okay! Those circumstances maybe are a blessing in disguise for her to find what she wants to be with in the future. Besides, it's in the line of our business." Pagtukoy nito sa mga restaurants na pagmamay-ari ng amo.

He nodded with that. Mabuti nalang talaga at dahil sa sipag niya kaya nai-enjoy paring gawin ng kapatid ang mga simpleng bagay na ginagawa nito noong nasa lumang bahay pa sila, kung hindi ay baka matagal na itong binulabog ng groupo nina Jomar.

Itinuon niya ang isip niya sa pagbabasa hanggang sa nmlayan nalang niyang pagabi na pala. Mga ganitong oras kasi ang pasok niya sa bar, but he already resigned because it was advised by Adam. Kailangan niya daw ituon ang sarili niya sa pag-aaral lalo pa at may malaking responsibilidad nang nakapasan sa balikat niya, hindi tulad ng dati na puro pera lang hinahanap niya. He'll be a father soon, at sa nakikita niya kailangan niyang alalayan si Patricia sa trabaho nito. Although Adam is there to do that, pero iba parin iyong presensiya ng may-ari. Hindi naman siya ang may-ari niyon, but he is the heir and he will pass it to their children soon. What he needs for now is knowledge, information, and background of those companies and the people behind them. He needs to dig in to prevent unwanted ends and enemies.

Nabulabog nalang siya sa isang katok na nanggaling sa opisinang kinaruruonan niya. "Hi!" Bungad na bati ng taong naruruon. Lumiwanag ang mukha niya pagkakita sa taong iyon.

"Hi, you're here!" Agad siyang tumayo at niyakap ang babae saka hinalikan ito sa pisngi. Pinamulahan ito ng mukha at tila nahiya sa ginawa niya. She's not used to this yet, but she can't help but like the warmth he is giving her.

"It looks like you're busy. Are you enjoying what you are doing?" Umiling si Akiro habang nakahilig sa balikat ni Patricia.

"I'm enjoying it more when you're here." Paglalambing niya kay Patricia. He loves doing this. He loves wrapping her in his arms and bathing her with his smell.

"Cheesy!" Nakangiting kumento nito.  "Right, the papers are ready. We will be having a private ceremony tomorrow." She said na nagpangiti sa kanya. He's been waiting for that. If it's within his power, he will make it come true right away, their wedding.

"Can't wait!" He guided Patricia downstairs to introduce her to his sister.

IT'S NOT the type of wedding he wanted but doing this with the girl he likes makes it perfect. He can go with this for now, but he sure promises himself to do this again in a proper way. Of course, he wants to see her marching in his direction in an aisle and facing God to pledge their vow.

The ceremony was done in private with selected people that are important to them. He can't help but smile when the judge declared, "I now pronounce you husband and wife!" then followed with "You may share your first married kiss!"

Nakita niya ang pamumula sa mukha ni Patricia at ang pag-aalangan sa mukha. Lumingon muna siya kay Adam na katabi ng kapatid na si Ayesha. Tila naintindihan naman nito ang kanyang pahiwatig at tinakpan ang mata ng kapatid. Saka siya bumaling agad kay Patricia at walang pag-aalinlangang inangkin ang malambot na labi nito. Napapikit ito sa ginawa niya at tinugon iyon.

Finally, they are officially married.
