Hi, and thank you for flying Air Mango! Our hero, Hope, had an interesting run-in today on public transit. And here she is, ready to tell it to you:
I take the bus. Sometimes it sucks. Sometimes it's okay. Sometimes it's great, because I'm not bothered by people, or I have people to talk to.
Today was no exception : I took the bus to return home. And due to that fact, I got on a bus - by myself(since everyone else takes another bus). With nothing to do, I pulled out my earphones and plugged them into my phone. I put on some music and put them in my ears. I also began reading on -none other than- Wattpad!
As I was reading and listening to music, I noticed people on the bus staring at me. Soon, they turned away, but one old woman right near me continued that rude glare. I was slowly getting pissed, because this woman just wouldn't stop. I glanced at her a couple times, then decided to ignore her. I turned my music up a bit louder.
She seemed to get even more mad, because though I was going to "ignore" her, I glanced at her anyways, waiting for her to stop. But she just wouldn't. Finally, she got off the bus, and I was okay.
Or was I....
My stop was about 5 stops away, and as I was holding my phone, I became aware of a vibration coming from it. I found that it was coming from the place where the speaker was. At first, I dismissed it like a simple issue, but soon I became curious - Why was it vibrating?
Lo and behold, as I pull out an earphone, I realize that my music is playing out loud.
Frantically, I turn the music off and pull out the stupid not-working earphones to stuff them in my bag.
A man behind me said, chuckling, " I was wondering how long it would take until you noticed."
Oh my lord I was ready to die. I felt so stupid! Actually, I was more mad at my earphones for not working, but still. Thankfully, my stop was next so I scurried off the bus into the outdoors - which was cold.
Even as I walked home, the embarrassment and humiliation stayed on my mind. I imagined all the people on the bus, going home and telling their families, " Hey, I saw this really stupid girl on the bus who had earphones in but was playing music out loud. It was really annoying but it was really funny."
My brain hurts just thinking about it.
Well, let's just hope I'll never have to have a job interview with any of the people on that bus.
And that's all folks! If you haven't already, please vote and comment, and if you haven't, follow Hope. She's a great person who is totally worth following, even if she may have little to no sanity. See you next time, and thank you for flying Air Mango!
