Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and thank you once again for flying Air Mango. We hope (lol, "Hope") you have been seated and are ready for take off. Oh, and here we go! Here is your captain, Hope:
As you can tell by the title, today was a VERY busy day. Well, maybe we did a lot of things, but we didn't do them AT ONCE. Still, it was pretty hectic.
First, in the morning, we had two more performances from the Senior Band! I thought we were done for the year, but I guess I thought wrong. I'm sure many of the other members feel the same way. In fact, I believe were only informed of it on Monday. Or was it Tuesday...
Still, we had an awesome performance. It was fun, which was the most important part (I know, it's cheesy, but it's true). Derek, Jagger, Hayes, Hailey and I are the eighth grade clarinets, and we are literally the coolest. It's great how we do so much bad stuff yet Derek always gets the blame. Like today, I forgot to get into the correct resting position, so Derek whisper shouted, "Hope! Resting position!"
Then the teacher gave him the look. You know, the look. *Sigh* I'm going to miss it. All of it. But I'll tell you one thing that Hailey won't miss - our amazing stand puns. Sometimes I wonder why she didn't just stand up and leave. But then I understand. It's because she can't stand to leave such amazing people! Come on, I should get a standing ovation for that. I could stand to get some credit for that.
(BTW HAILEY I FOUND MORE!! http://memebase.cheezburger.com/puns/tag/stand )
The only problem with the show was that we sped up WAY to much in one of the songs. Oh well. We'll never play it again so it's okay. Pardon me while I go cry....
The show, or should I say shows, went on until a little bit before lunch. We did two shows, one for the primaries and one for the junior/intermediates. We went upstairs, and Ms. S told us we could practice for our dance, which Hailey and I did. Pierce was also in my group, but he was off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what. I don't even.
Just before lunch, Ms. S called together all the grade 8s to talk about the Lego club's idea for grad. We were supposed to each bring in one of those figurine thingies and build it to represent us, but I just don't really think it was a great idea. Being in Lego Club, I don't think it's feasible, and with the *ahem* VARIETY of races at Chips, it's going to be hard.
Lego club was supposed to have a meeting, but I was sent to the library with Paige to work on the Yearbook instead. Natalia was also supposed to be an editor with me, but she just stopped showing up, so Paige took her spot. We worked really hard, and Ms. W was also there. She is very good grammatically, but I, on the other hand, am not. I'm sure if she was reading this she would wince. Oh well.
After an hour of working mixed in with a little bit of eating, we went back up and I headed to French class. Followed by that we had math, in which we had a math test. I think I did pretty well, though I ALMOST failed an entire question. The last one was asking for volume, but I started calculating surface area! Good thing I caught it in time, or I would have been dead meat. But maybe I'll meat you on the other side then! HAHAHAHAHA I am toooo good at puns. Please Raven, tell me you loved that pun. Because it was downright awesome. AND Y'ALL KNOW IT. DON'T EVEN TRY TO DENY IT.
Back to the point!
For the last two periods, the three intermediate classes went down to the gym, costumes and all for our dance performance. Thankfully, it was only us watching. Hailey, Pierce and I did pretty well. We forgot a move, but we recovered quickly - I don't think anyone noticed.
All the dances were super awesome, especially the grade 7s, who I think we can all agree are better than the 8s at a lot of things. However, I think the best dancer of the day was definitely Jagger. I think that code name fits him well because "He's got the moves like Jagger." That K-pop dancing looked hard and "The Squad," as they call themselves, seemed to pull it off.
After that we all got pizza and samosas and chips and drinks and it was fun. I realize I just put four "ands" in one sentence, but I don't even care. We had a bunch of "toasts," all of which I started - YAY.
By the time we got out of the gym, the bell had rung, and it was time to go home. All in all though, it was a great day. Maybe. Well, there are downsides to every thing, but I'd rather not get into those right now. So I'll end there.
Welcome back to land, and we hope (heh) you've had an enjoyable flight. Our pilot, Hope, deserves votes and comments, don't you think folks? Let's all give her that while she brings this plane in for a landing! Thank you for flying Air Mango, and we hope to see you back soon!
