Chapter 51

Taehyung's mother woke Clara up with enough time to eat some breakfast and get ready for her doctor's appointment. The car service would come and get her and wait for her while she was at her appointment.

Like before she saw the doctor almost immediately and she asked for a detailed rundown of exactly what had happened and how she was feeling now. Pleased with her progress, the doctor told her she wanted to take a quick ultrasound to ensure everything was going well with the baby.

The doctor seemed to spend a lot of time looking for the baby, which concerned Clara a bit. But she remembered she'd never done this before so she really had no idea what to expect. After several more minutes the doctor put everything back on the table while giving Clara a reassuring smile.

Well Clara, it looks like things are going well. Often when morning sickness is this severe it can point to other things, like multiples. I wanted to make sure I looked thoroughly to see if there was more than one baby. And I can tell you with relative certainty that you are pregnant with twins.

Clara didn't know what to say. That definitely was not what she was expecting to hear. Twins?

The doctor could see she was in shock but knew they had a bit more ground to cover. "I know you're already resting a lot, but it will become more important than ever. Pregnancy is a lot of work, twin pregnancies are even more strenuous on the body. But you are otherwise in such good health, I'm sure you'll be fine."

"I know you won't be happy to hear this, but you're going to need to take in even more calories from now on. It takes a lot of nutrition to grow twins so don't hold back, ok?"

Clara heard the doctor ask if she had any questions, but she really couldn't think of any besides "Are you sure?" Or "How did this happen?" But she was pretty sure she already knew the answer to both so she just shook her head no.

"Then I would like you to start weighing yourself at the same time every day and keeping a journal of your weight, sleep patterns, and any other symptoms. Bring it with you each time so we can review it together. We'll keep your visits at every two weeks for now unless I need to see you sooner. If you lose more than two pounds from your weight today I want you to call me right away, ok? We're really going to need to keep on top of things."

After she received Clara's confirmation the doctor bid Clara goodbye, reminding her that she'd see her in two weeks. Clara then gathered her things to head to the car. This was a lot of news. She didn't even really know how to digest it. The one thing she knew for sure is that she wanted to tell Taehyung in person, even if she had to wait almost a full week. After her last effort at surprising him with the news of her pregnancy was such an epic disaster, this time she assured herself it would go more smoothly.

It was a big secret to keep, but she was ready to do it right this time. And in the meantime she would have more time to become comfortable with the idea herself.

After a nice long nap, Clara was laying in bed thinking of getting up. Her phone buzzing next to her finally motivated her to move. Seeing it was Taehyung, she quickly answered.

"Hey baby girl, how are you doing?"

"I'm ok, I just woke up from a nap. How are you? How was the trip back? Have you started filming yet?"

"One at a time sweetheart, yes we've started filming again. I've already done a few scenes today, and have more throughout the afternoon and evening."

"Oh good. I already miss you and want you to come home." Clara shyly responded.

"I miss you too, my love. In the meantime I want to hear about your doctor's appointment, how did it go?"

"Oh yeah, it was pretty good. She said everything looked good so I'll see her again in two weeks."

"Really, is that it? Nothing interesting?"

"No, not really. Just keep resting and being careful about eating well."

"So there wasn't any big news to share, like we're having twins?"

Clara didn't know how to respond. First of all she couldn't figure out how Taehyung knew. She was the only person who knew and she hadn't talked to anyone. But she couldn't really pretend and say no at this point. Obviously he knew.

"Oh yeah, I guess that was kind of big news wasn't it? Guess what, we're having twins!" Clara tried to seem excited but mostly she was just baffled. "Did you call the doctor after my appointment to check on it? That's really sweet, I know you're busy."

"Well, not really, I heard from the company."

"You what? What do you mean?"

Someone at the company saw the medical report back from your doctor's appointment, and they told the manager who told me. I couldn't wait to call you to see how you're doing and to tell you how excited I am. We're going to get two beautiful babies!"

"Yeah, I guess we are. Hey Tae I'm sorry to cut you short but I need to run and use the bathroom. Maybe I'll talk to you later today?"

"Yeah sure!" Taehyung nearly shouted. "I'm so happy right now. I hardly know what to say. I can't wait to see you again and we can celebrate together, ok?"

"Yeah, ok" Clara responded. "I miss you, I can't wait for you to come back home."

"Me too baby girl, me too."
