"Stupid traffic!" He cursed under his breath knowing he was genuinely late this time. Kas was not the kind of place to attract too much crowd but here he was. Stuck with absolutely no access to WiFi or phone coverage. And it meant he did not have access to her.

While he was busy with an important business to tend, Ayse had called him twenty-five times. Alas, he could not check, and now, his breath was stuck in his throat.

"OH Lord, let her be safe. Lütfen ." Serkan muttered while looking ahead, hoping the mess would clear, and he would reach his destination without any further delay.

..........
He barged inside the cottage frantically as if his life depended on it. Ayse opened the door for him with a perplexed face, glistening with the line of worries.

"She was not opening the door and started screaming when I tried to get close." She panted and tried to tell his boss that it was not her fault this time. She was neither snoozing nor tending to any other business that could have put Eda's life in danger.

Serkan rushed straight to the bedroom and opened it with the spare key but she was not there. His mind was going all over the place until his eye caught the water on the floor.
The bathroom.

It was overflooded.

"Fuck." What if she tried to kill herself? This time he won't be able to save her.

"Eda." He screamed and was ready to push the door with the entire force of his shoulder but thankfully it was not locked.

Unfortunately, the sight he saw was not pleasant either.

The bathroom was turned upside down. Toiletries were thrown all over the place, and it was flooded. Eda was sitting in the bathtub. Her naked self was immersed in the cold water, while she shivered incessantly.

As silent tears escaped her stoned eyes, she had hugged her legs against her chest. Her eyes were not blinking and Serkan could tell she was trying hard not to close her eyes. She was vulnerable.

She was scared.

And he abhorred seeing her like that. She could not be scared. This emotion was not meant for her.

"bebeğim iyi misin?" He whispered gently not wanting to scare her off.

"Eda?"

Her fragile, shivering figure looked up for the first time and Serkan's heart skipped a beat.
"Save me." She pleaded defencelessly, exposing her vulnerable self to the man she hated with her entire existence.

"Save me, Serkan." Eda whispered again but this time her voice was trembling not just from fear but from the cold as well. It was minus 2 outside and she was drenched in freezing water.

"Gel , we need to get you out." He ignored her plea, not willing to get into this at the moment.
"They'll kill me." She stammered and Serkan knew it wasn't the death she was scared of. It was her own fear that grappled her mind.

"No one's gonna kill you. I'm here for you. They won't get to you,Soz." He sat down and brushed her wet locks behind her ear, wanting to have a proper look at her face.

He missed her terribly.

"They will...they were here, this morning. I saw them, Serkan." She hiccuped as silent tears turned into uncontrollable sobs. Eda slammed her head against his chest, yearning for the comfort, those arms provided her every night, every day.

Serkan soothed her with a gentle hand on her numb back and cradled her in his arms like a baby. She had lost so much weight. He was careful not to step on the broken china piece or lose balance.
