It was late at night, and she couldn't make it on time despite her efforts. Since Serkan's accident, Eda tried her level best to wrap up work as soon as possible and reach home- Serkan's home.

It wasn't a selfish want. She wanted to be with him. Not for sleep, not for sex. But for assurance that the nightmare had ended. Every single night when she held him close to her heart, it helped her feel better that he was safe. He isn't laying unconsciously on the hospital bed like that day.

It was around 9 pm when she reached the penthouse. It was a busy day. Eda had to visit her mother, and on top of that, there was an important meeting with Onur Bey. The old man and his wife wouldn't agree to anything without her presence, and it was getting on her nerves.

Eda opened the door to Serkan's room, expecting him asleep because he didn't call her in the last 3 hours and didn't call out her name since she entered the house.

But to her surprise, he had company tonight.
Eda's side of the bed and her favorite spot, which happened to be Serkan's arms, were filled with a feminine figure. He had his arm wrapped around the petite body, and Eda noticed his hold wasn't tight, unlike hers. He was probably sound asleep along with their new guest tonight.

Eda placed her bag aside and pressed her back to the wall, unable to take her eyes off the duo. A subtle smile adorned her face, and her features softened at the sight.

There was no doubt that nazli was really important for Serkan. Eda had seen it for herself.

She loved him, and he adored her. In fact, he was extremely protective of her. And if truth be told, Eda hadn't seen him like this with someone else.

She was all over him in the hospital. Cried and prayed to God for his health. She didn't realize the depth of this bond until nazli's frequent visits to the hospital. She was the only one whose gifts and cards were accepted by Serkan.

She'd made drawings and get well soon cards for him and send them on a daily basis.
And to Eda's surprise, Serkan loved them. He looked forward to what the four-year-old had drawn or written for him in her wobbly writing. But Eda could tell that it meant the world for Serkan. He'd praise it wholeheartedly, look at it with a huge smile on his face and grin at Nazli's silly rhymes for Serkan. And all of this wasn't a show.

It was as real as it could get
It had been a week since Serkan was discharged from the hospital. But nazli's visits lessened due to her school.

Eda wasn't expecting her tonight, and she was surely not expecting them cuddled together. It was the cutest sight.

Serkan was probably reading her a book as a fairytale was still in one of his hands. Her little head was on one of his wounds, but he didn't seem to care. She was snoring lightly, probably enjoying her Serkan abi's embrace just like her.
Eda didn't know how long she stood against the wall watching them together, making the most beautiful sight ever.

'You're here.' Serkan's drowsy voice disturbed her chain of thoughts, but she didn't stop smiling.

She was smiling a lot these days.

'Someone stole my spot.' She shrugged, and Serkan chuckled without making a sound. He carefully tried to remove his chest beneath nazli's head, but the pain shot through.
Eda immediately helped him, and carefully placed nazli on her side with pillows under her head and sides

'Careful.' He hushed when Eda placed nazli's head on the pillow. Sometimes it was hard for Eda to believe that this man was capable of loving someone so much.

'You love children, don't you ?' She asked out of the blue, but Serkan's startled face amazed her more

He took a minute to answer her question. 'Nobody hates children.'

'Criminals do. Child abusers, and pedophiles do. I'm sure your girlfriend hates them too. She didn't like nazli when she visited the hospital.'
'Nazli told you that?'

'No. She just mentioned that she didn't like the blue-eyed lady hovering over her Serkan abi.' Eda mentioned it, knowingly taking pride in the fact that Nazli loved her instead of Serkan's fiance, and some part of Eda wanted Serkan to know that.

'You love kids; that's why you were going to kill me when you thought I aborted our nonexistent baby?' She continued with a tone of skepticism and fear, wondering if it'd trigger Serkan's anger like last time,
Eda noticed how Serkan's jaw twitched, and he clenched it.

'Children don't deserve ruthlessness. You can hate the world, but they should be protected at all costs.' He commented dreamily as if he was thinking about something else. Eda didn't miss the melancholy in his voice.

Eda noticed how Serkan's gaze found nazli when he uttered those last words. And she got the idea that he won't be telling her more. He didn't tell her about his relationship with nazli nor the reason for his attachment with this family. Whatever it was, she was intrigued now but unwilling to push the topic. But she made a mental note to find out about them.

'So, I think I'm not getting to sleep on my usual spot today?' She flirted with a fake disappointment in her voice.

'Gel.' He chuckled and forwarded his arms to embrace the woman who added light to his life

Serkan held her close and shifted himself to the middle of the bed and Eda on his right side while nazli on the left. The bed was huge enough for both of them to sleep without any disturbance.

'This can't continue like this.' Serkan spoke after a few minutes while stroking Eda's back
'What?'

'We need to fix your sleep, Eda.' He commented, giving a small peck on her closed eyes.

'Are you tired of me?' Eda frowned exactly the way Nazli did when Serkan refused to feed her more chocolates.

'I'm scared. What would you've done if I died that day?'

Eda didn't let him finish the sentence and pecked his lips.
'Can we not talk about that night?'

'Tamam. How about getting help- Real Help? You can't depend on me.'

'Hmmm' Eda was far from registering what Serkan was saying. Her face nuzzled his neck, and she sucked his sensitive spot with urgency.
It was then they felt someone moving.

They forgot they had a child with them.
Nazli turned right, facing Serkan, and in her sleep, placed her hand on Serkan's arm.
'We can't make out in front of a child.' Serkan whispered to Eda's dismayed face

'She's sleeping.' Eda reasoned logically
'Allah Allah. Eda, are you kidding me?'
'Tamam. Can I at least hug you to sleep or that isn't allowed in front of children either?'

Serkan laughed and pulled her closer, placing a peck on her forehead.

With the two most important people sleeping beside him, he felt like thanking God for the first time.

It felt good
He was at peace. Finally
