Varian and the others were on their was to the air kingdom. On their way, they ran into someone. They pulled out a dagger, turning to face the group. They put the dagger down when they saw who it was.
"Varian?" they spoke. Varian looked up from the journal(?) to see Cassandra.
"Cassie!?" Varian exclaimed. He put the journal in Hugo's hands and jumped into Cassandra's arms.
"Woah- Hi kid!" she ruffled up his hair, causing the young alchemist to giggle slightly.
"Ooo, cassandrioum!" Yong said happily, pointing at Cass' necklace.
"Yeah. So, who are these lot, Var?" smiled Cassandra.
"Oh right. Guys, this is my sister, Cassandra. Cass, these are my friends. The one that just pointed out the cassandrioum is Yong. The space one is Princess Nuru. This tall asshole here is Hugo," Varian said, eyeing down Hugo.
"Y'know, goggles, people will think you wanna kiss me if you stare at me," Hugo smirked. Varian rolled his eyes, blushing. Cassandra noticed it, but brushed it off. Yong and Nuru waved.
"Well, where are you guys headed?" Cassandra looked at the one with the map, Nuru.
"My kingdom, koto!" Nuru smiled, clearly excited.
"Oh I'm actually on my way there too!" Cass walked next to the cosmic girl. Varian got out a vial from his bag and shook it slightly.
"What's that?" asked Yong to Varian.
"Just something I made a few years back, well a few days I made this exact one, but I made this formula a few years back," Varian smiled.
"Nerd," Hugo coughed. Varian elbowed him.
"Oh shut up," Varian laughed.
"Isn't that the stuff you used to trap raccoons in?" Cassandra laughed.
"Yep, now I just use when I need to. I was just checking it hasn't gone weird or exploded in my bag," he faced Cass. Everyone began to talk and Cassandra walked over to Varian who was further ahead then the others.
"Sooo, what's with you and blondie over there?" Cassandra smirked. Varian went bright red.
"Whaaat? Nothings up with us! What do you mean?" he stammered awkwardly.
"Mhmm," Cassandra put and arm around the young alchemist's shoulder. "I'm sure." Varian went even redder.
"C'mon, just tell me!" Cass smiled.
"Not happening anytime soon!!" Varian yelled.
"Varian, it'll help," Cassandra was still smiling. "C'mon!"
"Fine! So I might like him.. Even if I did, how would I tell him. He's stubborn, a douche, uptight. Also, I'm pretty sure he's straight." At that, Cassandra looked back at Hugo then looked back at Varian. She looked in between the two for a minute.
"You sure he's straight?" she asked. Varian shrugged.
"Even if he wasn't straight, I doubt he'd like me," Varian looked forward to where Nuru's kingdom would be soon. "We should just pretend this conversation never happened."
"Nope, nuh-uh, you're really likeable Varian. I could ask him what he thinks of you?" she persisted. Varian groaned, knowing he'd fail to make her not. He nodded reluctantly as she walked over to the blonde boy. They exchange a few words before Cassandra walked back over to Varian.
"I'd say go for it. Just ask him," she smirked. Varian, who's blush had cleared up slightly when Cass had went to talk to Hugo, went a bright red again.
"I can't do that! He teases me constantly!" Varian whisper yelled. Cass laughed.
"Yeah you can," she turned to face her brother. "Just promise me something, you'll stay close with him no matter the outcome, alright?" Varian nodded.
"Fine," he smiled at the idea of him and Hugo possibly dating in the future.
