my eyes were blinded by the sun as i slowly opened them. jesus, why is it so bright?
i rolled over on my side to get more comfortable not knowing that there was someone laying next to me.
i jumped and fully opened my eyes. laying next to me was a shirtless patrick mahomes.
his chest going up and down at a steady rate while soft snores were heard. i smiled at him asleep next to me.
what happened last night?
i laid my head on his bare chest and closed my eyes but opened them back up immediately when i felt myself about to puke.
i ran to the bathroom and did just that.
"you okay?" patrick's tired voice was heard from behind me.
i flushed the toilet and stood up, facing him. he stood there, rubbing his tired eyes and i nodded, "i puked again, don't know why this is happening," i huffed, splashing cold water on my face.
patrick wrapped his arms around me, burying his face in the back of my neck. i smiled at his touch and that's when i realized i was only wearing a bra and underwear.
"can we talk?" i softly spoke, staring at him through the mirror.
patrick nodded and i followed him back into the bedroom where we both sat down on the bed. he gave me his immediate attention while i tried to think of how to explain all of this to him.
"i just want to ask....what happened last night? i don't remember anything, do you?" i asked, my cheeks slightly redding up.
patrick instantly smiled, showing his white shiny teeth while laughing, "well, after we danced, you kind of fainted on the dance floor. i think because you were drinking so much then i told everyone i'd bring you home. when we got back here, you woke up and then we made out."
"oh..." i said, biting my lip while looking away from him, "okay."
"why you acting so shy, julie?" patrick asked, moving closer to me, his hand resting on my bare thigh making my stomach flutter, "you still wear the ring?" he smiled brightly at the sight of it.
"yeah, you did say we were taking a break and i promised you, remember?" i smiled back.
he went to say something but i stopped him, "now can i please explain everything?"
patrick nodded, "yeah."
"the reason i kissed travis was because he had confessed his feelings for me. he asked me if he could kiss me and i felt bad so i said yes. i thought that if i let him kiss me, the feelings he has for me would go away. i'm sorry patrick, i'm so sorry," i said as my eyes swelled up in tears.
"hey don't cry," patrick softly said as he pulled me into his arms, "i forgive you, julie. i just needed time."
"okay," i whispered, breathing in his scent which i loved so so much.
