I shouldn't even be shocked anymore.
"I didn't think it would be so easy," She laughed, "Almost makes me a little annoyed. Then again, what do you expect from a fifteen year old and a couple of her little friends anyway?" She paused, "And it's not like my pathetic son would ever do anything great is his life. The one thing that could make him worthy he didn't even do willingly. Such a shame I gave birth to someone so weak."
Keefe hung his head. I suddenly felt terrible for him. Biana watched the scene unfold in horror, just like me.
"You're the one who doesn't deserve him," Sophie snapped, her gag falling off her mouth.
"Hush, dear. You wouldn't want to see one of your friends—or my son's—blood on the floor, now would you?"
I gasped in shock. It was one thing for Gisela to call her son unworthy, but to willingly kill him...? Now that's something even my parents would never do.
"Back to what I was saying, lovelies. I need you, all four of you, actually."
Biana's gag slipped from her mouth, "For what?" She asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just a little plan I've been plotting for years now," She laughed. I glared at her, praying my gag would slip from my mouth too, "So Sparkle Queen—" I guess Biana got a nickname after all, "You're actually the key in putting my plan into motion. I need an Vanisher. And don't even think about refusing, unless you like the idea of crying over Tam Song's dead body."
Biana shivered in fear, and finally my gag slipped from my mouth, "Don't you dare—" I started.
Suddenly, there was a knife under my throat, "Not another word."
I tried to keep my hands from shaking as she put her sword back into her belt, "Guards, untie them. They're coming with me."
Quietly, our bonds were untied by two Neverseen members I didn't recognize, each with their hoods pulled tightly over their heads. It was impossible to even tell if they were male or female.
"Follow me, lovelies," Gisela said. I hesitantly took Biana's hand in mine. She didn't pull away. I noticed Keefe doing the same thing to Sophie, and quietly we followed Gisela, none of us daring to make a sound.
We came to stop at a heavy metal door.
"Behind that door is the answer to all your questions," Gisela told us, "And we're about to go inside."
