To say you were in trouble was an understatement. After a few minutes being under water, Neteyam and Ao'nung finally came down to take the 2 of you back up. When you got back to the clan, Ao'nungs friends told on you immediately.
Soon enough you were being scolded by Marcus in front of Jake, his 2 sons and tonowari and his 2 kids. You could see Norm and Max watching in the background and Neytiri too.
"What the hell were you thinking?" The man yelled. You stood in the middle of the 2 families that were circled around you.
Your whole body was limp. Both because you were over being yelled at for the last 5 minutes and 2 because your arms were saw from trying to lunch against the water. Your head hung down, your hair covering your face
You were upset that No one even cared to ask you your side of the story because of how you normally act. They expect you to be angry and reckless. So that is how you act. You couldn't show your sadness.
"Why would you even think about punching the poor kid. What did he do?- no I don't even want to know what happened. Because I know you will just make up an excuse. This is exactly like at camp...the poor girl you almost beat up"
You thought back to the memory. A Na'vi girl had been very mean to you. And always ganged up on you. You never did anything to her until a week after her messing around. You punched her right in the nose and you were punished while she was pampered. No one bothered to ask why you punched her, thinking that it was just a you thing to do.
"I am very disappointed in you Y/n... very disappointed." Marcus said angrily pointing at you. "Look at me god damn it" you closed your eyes sharply. Before taking a breath and tilting your head up slightly. Staring deep into his eyes.
He was a little taken back as he looked at your angry face. Your death stare. But he straightened his back as he rembered he was the angry one. The adult.
"I want you to apologise to the boy for what you did" Marcus said with arms crossed. You took a step back and looked away from the man. Away from everyone. "Oi...look at me" Marcus said just as angry as before.
You shook your head. You were fed up. "Why not ask me my side of the story...or the witnesses"
He put his finger up to shut you up. He didn't even want to hear your side. You couldn't take anymore. He had every right to be angry at you. But you had the right to explain yourself.
"Just when I think you were getting a better temper - better attitude...you go and do something like this" he said almost as a whisper.
"Marcus...you don't have to be so harsh" Max said from the side stepping forward. Marcus turned to him confused.
"How else will she learn?"
You shook your head. You actually laughed. Did he really think this was how you were going to learn? By how loud he could yell.
"Whats so funny?" The man asked. He almost sounded scared. When you didn't reply with anything but a smile he continued with an 'ahem'. "Can you please apologise"
"No" you hissed. Everyone was silent for a few seconds. Jake and tonowari were both shocked.
"Marcus...she can when she has calmed down" tonowari said stepping forward. But Marcus wasn't having it.
But neither were you.
So you walked off. Pushing through the small crowd that formed. Though they all made a path, not wanting to get in your way.
"Y/n!" You heard people yell. But you ignored the calls. Instead you stood on the beach looking out to the distance.
You could see a black figure on some rocks just past the reef. You knew who it was.
