"Y/n" you turned around to see who had called your name out. Jogging up behind you was quaritch.

"It's pronounced y/n...not y/n. And you can call me moon, everyone does" You snapped back mocking his accent. He huffed out, giving you a disappointed look before taking in a breath and stepping away putting his arm out to show he wanted to walk with you.

"Y/n...I'm told that you are escorting my team and I tomorrow to test a hypothesis?" He said slowely, just like he walked. He was looking at you, eyebrows raised.

"Yes sir...I am." You answered looking at him before looking at the floor.

"I thought I'd just check up on you as I haven't really spoken to you much since we first met. See your skills and experience" you nodded slowly taking in his information.

"Well what would you like to know sir?" You said looking to the man with a smirk. He pressed his lips together and squinted at you. He was staring you down. Trying to figure out why you were acting the way you were.

Cocky. You were acting very cocky for a 15 year old girl. But you had reason to be. You knew he would be surprised when you told him what your life was like before coming to Pandora. It sure as hell wasn't easy.

You walked into the bunk room and headed to your bunk. You pulled out your trunk and sat on it. Letting the colonel sit on the bed. "Ask me anything colonel" you said as you clasped your hands together.

"Tell me everything. I need to know your life so I can tell if you will be able to handle yourself if we get into a...sticky situation." His voice was slow and raspy.

"Well sir, theres not much to it. My folks could look after me and abandoned me on someone's doorstep when I was a few months old. Turns out they picked a bad door. Some gang members lived there. They raised me. They thought me how to fight and all the shit that came along with it. Committed a lot of crimes." Quaritch nodded along as you spoke, taking in every small detail. "Just before I was 14 they kicked me out. I got sick and would have died. But these people took my memories and put them in this blue person. Now I'm here...have been for about a year now."

"Why were you kicked out?" He asked, face all scrunched up in confusion.

"Because when I was 7 I found this book on Pandora. Changed my life. I found a shit tone more and read all of them. I learnt everything you could about this place. You were mentioned a few times. I must say colonel, I'm not sure if I'm on the right side of this fight-"

"Y/n, that doesn't answer my question" he said with a look of annoyance and anger in his yellow eyes. You nodded once and pursed your lips.

"Right. Um my 'parents' didn't like Pandora. My father's father went there and never came back." You said. "Kicked me out when they found out how much I loved it."

"See, that wasn't so hard." He said standing up. "I'll see you tomorrow soldier...I hope you know what you're doing" he said holding his hand out for you to shake. You stood up shaking the man's hand. You went to let go but he held your hand, pulling you closer and inspecting the bloodied knuckles you had. His eyes lifted to you in question.

"Some of us avatars have fights. People place bets and everything" you said with anger in your eyes. Trying to hide the fear. The man scared you. And from what you had read in the books, you had good reason to.

"And moon here is the best of us. She wins most of them" a voice said. You looked behind quaritch and saw a tall blue woman. Jessica. She slept on the bed beneath you. You smiled at her and lowered your head, hiding your face in the long hair on your head.

Quaritch looked to you and let go, walking off without another word. You looked back up to the woman who was holding a pair of scissors snipping them twice at you with a big smile. You groaned and hid your face in your hands.
