Summer eyes slim as she looks at me, skepticism written all over her face.
"You're fucking joking, right?"
I shake my head, "No ma'am."
She points her finger at me like a grandma talking shit, "Don't you ma'am me. I didn't even know you two knew of each other's existence. And now all of a sudden you're long lost friends deciding to reunite?"
I shrug my shoulders and grin at her.
Her face scolds me enough, "When will he be here?"
"Literally any second. You're the first one I told."
"The others don't know?" Summer hissed.
"Do they need a warning or something?"
"Are you warning me?"
"You knew him. I didn't want things to be awkward."
"You want me to kiss your hand and say thank you?" She places her hand on her hip.
"If you want me to throw up all over your pretty little white shoes, then be my guest."
Summer's eyelashes flutter, a sign that she's starting to get annoyed.
"It'll be fine." I say.
"You say that about everything."
I shrug and start walking back towards the others, "I haven't been wrong yet."
Summer grunts and follows me.
Summer's friends are drama kids. They're also all seniors. Some do tech, and some are actors. I'm not sure what show they're doing this year, but I know that they complain on how hard it is. And lunch is sometimes just one huge rant session about rehearsal.
Something else about her friends are that some of them are also LGBTQ, like me.
There's Jaxxon, Steph, Rylan and Rody (we call them Ry and Ro), and Bugs.
Jaxxon does lights, and he's good at singing. He has bright pink streaks in his hair that matches his girlfriends, and I think he's pretty funny. We don't talk much outside the group, but I would like to.
Steph is the short black haired girl that was there when Summer attempted to hit on me. We've never had a conversation without Summer there, and even when we do talk, it isn't very direct. She's fine, I just hate the side eye she gives me sometimes.
Bugs is short, sweet, and pretty quiet. She also does costumes. Sometimes she crochets something as she listens to all of us talk, and nods her head silently when she agrees, like we're her own personal podcast. I remember she was one of my only friends that I had during freshman year, she had really short hair and a deep voice before she transitioned. I think part of the reason why she doesn't talk is because she thinks her voice is still too deep, even though I think it's as sweet as her personality.
Ry and Ro are twins, but they try their best not to seem like it. They dress different, talk different, and like the complete opposite stuff. But they look exactly identical, and even sound identical too. They play some supporting roles in the show, and I'll just say their personalities are definitely meant for the stage. They're pretty chill, but you could blink and they could be the exact opposite. I only have one class with Ro, but in that class we don't sit next to each other, so we don't talk much.
