I had finished my breakfast and was in the middle of tying my shoes when I head a tapping on my bedroom window. Cautiously, and ready to fight, I opened it.
"Good morning sweetheart!-"
"shhhh!!" I lunged at daisy Mae, covering her mouth.
She looked confused
"Hush up miss Daisy Atticus is gonna find you!" I whisper shouted
"Hm?"
"I'm keepin you a secret from him bc he won't like you"
After I said that, I noticed a fear in her eyes. I didn't know why, atticus wouldn't be ugly to her, he just wouldn't like her is all.
"Oh, okay, sorry love" she whispered
Once she was gone, I sat contemplating on my bed, deriving a plan to hang out with miss daisy without atticus knowing, and without calpurnia seeing, in case she tells him.
I thought for what I could only estimate was hours before I finally figured it out. I would drop notes off for her during the day.
I grabbed some scrap paper from my drawer and got to work on my note, proud of my thoughtful plan.
I ran as fast as I could to her house, so nobody would see me, and slipped the note in her window, before dashing back home. And now, I wait.-daisy pov-

Lov,
Scout."I looked at the scrap of paper in my hand, a note scribbled to me in red crayon by none other than scout.
I smiled to myself at the adorable misspellings and horrid sentence structure, but in reality, most kids her age could not read, much less write, at all.
And, I was still able to decipher the meaning of her note to me. Playing along, I got a piece of paper and began to write her back.-scouts pov-
As soon as I took the slip of paper from my window, I began to unfold it. I was so unbelievably excited to see a note from miss daisy, meaning she got my letter, and read it, and sent me one back.
Best of all, I didn't even see her! So neither did anyone else. The note had little hearts and flowers drawn all over it, it said"Dear scout,
Thanks for my letter dear, you did an amazing job writing it-"I smiled, feeling proud in my penmanship.
"-and I will gladly play hide and seek with you.if you can find the time to come over, we can play wherever you'd like.
Love,
Daisy"I felt myself smiling big as I stuffed the note under my bed. I ran to the living room where atticus sat by the radio, and wrapped my body around his leg.
"Yes, scout" Atticus didn't look up from his reading
"Can I go to miss mauides house?"
"Yes, you can to miss mauides, so long as it's okay with her. Be back when cal calls for you"
I hopped off his leg and ran out, pats miss mauides house, and onto miss daisys porch.
He had no idea.-[unknown] pov-
I smiled to myself as I saw the two play in Daisy's back yard, watching as daisy put on a show of excitable emotions for scout.
She had more energy than I ever had, and she got along remarkably well with even the feistiest of kids it seemed.
I had a feeling daisy Mae was soon to be a bigger part in my life.
