Chapter 25: Date

Adya was curled up in a comfortable ball. She was fast asleep. Her face reflected peace. Her lips were slightly curved into a smile.

"Miss...?" Adya could hear a faint voice. She stirred a bit but went back to her sweet sleep again.

"Umm..miss...wake up," the voice said again. She didn't want to.

"Ummm....miss it's already dinner time. Please wake up" Adya now scrunched her face in her sleep. She did not like the disturbance. After a while, she heard a very faint "leave". She was not sure whether she was dreaming or was there somebody really trying to wake her up. Either way, the disturbance has stopped. She turned to sleep on her stomach now. It felt oddly comfortable.

After a while of peaceful sleep, she felt something pressing against her body. She sighed. And opened her eyes to look straight into a pair of liquid gold. Adya found her nose inches away from Ajish's lips. There was a naughty smirk on them.

"Love...you need to get up and have dinner. You did not eat anything today." He said.

Adya on the other hand was still perplexed by the proximity and was staring at his lips. Something was wrong. She should be bothered about something. But what? Her brain was taking an irritating amount of time to comprehend her thoughts. But after a small second every memory of her begging to be loved came gushing into her mind.

Her eyes widened momentarily. The heat raised on her cheeks and nose. She wanted to hide and never come out of hiding in this lifetime. She was royally embarrassed. So to save herself from self-humiliation she shut her eyes and pretended to be in deep slumber.

Stupid. Really, really stupid. He knows. She was cursing herself in her mind.

And her suspicion was confirmed by a small chuckle. His lips were near her ears now.

"So my little love, do you still want me to...." He finished his question by tracing her neck with the tip of his nose.

"We can have our dinner after we are done" His voice was tangy. His lips were grazing her shoulders sending shivers down her spine. She clutched the sheet tightly to control her body, to keep it limp. She felt Ajish pulling away. Unwanted disappointment flooded her. Within moments she lost his touch.

Adya peeked through her half-closed eyes. Ajish was nowhere to be seen. She raised her head a bit to have a better view of the room. Her face fell. She bit her lower lips to control the swirl of pain inside her chest. By now she knew that she has to just give the pain a bit of time. It fades away with time.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" a scream left her lips as she was dragged by her ankle. She hit something hard.

"Caught you.." she heard a playful voice. She raised her head to see a mesmerizing smile on Ajish's face. His arms pulled her closer to him. She suddenly realized that she was saddling him. Her hand flew to his shoulders in a futile attempt to make some distance between them.

"Mr. Jade...I ..." She was nervous. Ajish dropped his head in the nook of her neck while hugging her.

"Mr. Jade...I am sorry..I..."She tried again. She hated the fact that she was not able to form a functional statement under his influence.

"For?" Ajish whispered in her hair.

"For my behavior... aah..." Adya gasped as she felt Ajish touch her mark..the mark...

"So you don't want to...." Ajish pulled her closer with a jerk.

Adya kept quiet. Not that she wanted to keep quiet but her body and soul refuse to say "No" and her mind was screaming a "Yes". Ajish chuckled and pulled back to face Adya.

"My little mate, I was just messing with you. You don't have to be sorry" He caressed her hair. "But now you will grant me a wish."

"Wish?" Adya scrunched her nose.

"We had a deal remember?" Ajish was now caressing her back.

"But it was not a fair deal." Adya's lips were pushed into a reflexive pout. "If I would have agreed, we would have made love, and now that I don't, you get a wish. That is a win-win deal for you. It's unfair." Adya was surprised to see a smile bloom on Ajish's face.

" What?" Adya asked.

"You know that whenever it happens I will make LOVE to you. Nothing less, if not more" He said with subtle happy eyes. "If I had given in to your demands, it would have shattered me into irretrievable pieces. I want you to be mine with all your heart, soul, and mind. With every bit of your existence."

Adya was at a loss for words. She was not expecting Ajish to be so gentle with her, so loving to her. Was it really him or the bond?

"And now about the wish..." the tangy smile was back "I want to take you out on a date"

Adya was hesitant for a moment.

"I...Mr. Jade." She saw a speck of disappointment on Ajish's face and it killed her. "Ok...just one" She sighed. She could not help but smile at him. A small one, but a warm one.

"So it's a date" squealed Ajish with the enthusiasm of a 16-year-old.
