Adya was chanting like a mantra. It has been a week now and true to his words Ajish has not caused any trouble for Adya. He was anything but trouble for the past few days. He would care like a mother, protect like a father, support like a brother, and console like a sister. He would be around to wipe out any sign of distress like a friend. But the most important gesture was his embrace. He would love like a true lover.

In any other circumstance, she would have considered being indebted to Mother Earth for such a mate but he is the very soul who has snatched everything from her in a blink of a moment.

He blamed her for a crime she did not commit.

He threatened her very land.

He rejected her as his mate.

He caused her immense physical and emotional pain.

He marked her without her consent.

Can she forget all the suffering? Can she forgive the perpetrator of all the pain?

No...a clear no.

She has to force herself to think straight. She has to control her emotions. She has to resist the bond. She cannot go weak now. She would have happily submitted to him if, only if, he was not so blind in revenge. The deed is done. The damage is irreparable now. No amount of love care and affection will turn things around.

SHE HATES HIM.

"Breath in"

She has to stay away from him. She will stay away from him.

The sound of the door pulled back Adya to reality. Her eyes followed Ajish who was talking on the phone while walking towards her. As soon as his eyes found her his eyes lit up with joy. By the time he was beside her, his phone was already in his pocket. He was facing her right now.

"Adya, my love" He intertwined his fingers with hers and pulled her into his embrace. He buried his face in her hair. Adya did not hug him back. Her hands were hanging ideally beside her. Ajish sensing the same pulled back. He pulled her chin with two fingers to make her look at him.

"What's the matter? Are you not feeling well?" He asked curiously.

"I want to go home," She said looking into his eyes.

"You are home," He said with a puzzled look.

"I want to go back to my home, The Land of Haz," She said with a stern voice.

The eyes which were filled with love and affection moments ago were now blank.

"No"

"Why?"

"This is your home, Adya. You are my mate. Mates belong together. So this very place is your home now. You are not going anywhere. You are my family now." Ajish said with an unnaturally cold voice.

"Mates are supposed to protect each other as well Mr. Jade. They don't cause pain to each other" She called out.

"Baby I am trying" Ajish's eyes softened.

"Well, it will not work. No amount of trying and loving is going to work. I have suffered a lot. I am broken and damaged beyond repair now. So I just want to be done with everything. I want to go back home." She said with venom in her voice.

For the first time in days, there was hostility on Ajish's face. He wrapped his fingers around her wrist and pulled her to his chest. She whimpered as she crashed on his hard chest. The hand on her wrist was not secured around her waist and the other one was holding her jaws. The hold was soft but firm.

Adya raised her head to look into his eyes. They held pure rage.

"You are not going anywhere where I don't belong. You are my family now. You are mine. You are my home." He said while gritting his teeth.

"You snatched everything from me. You snatched away my home. What made you believe that you deserve a home?" She said with a sad smile on her face.
