Jonny leaned on the fence and watched the setting sun. His mind sorted all the happenings of the previous week. He was sad deep down in his heart. He could not even imagine what it must be like for Alisha and Willy. Then he noticed Alisha coming his way. She came and stood by him. Jonny truly admired her with all his heart and promised to himself that he would one day marry her. "I don't know what to say, Jonny." she said. "I don't really either." Jonny said. "Well, I have one thing to say and that's that I truly like you a lot. You are a true friend. Kind, happy, sympathetic. What would I do without you? I had a secret love for you the minute I saw you." she said. "I feel the same. I thought you were the most pretty girl I had ever seen." They both laughed. Ma then called for them to come for supper. "I guess you are kind of my sister now." Alisha lowered her head and said, "Yeah, I guess you are right." He knew it was hard for her to think of it this way. He gently put his arm around her as they walked. He knew she couldn't help feeling sad. They ate a delicious supper of bread, butter, and potato soup. After that Jonny helped Alisha, Willy, and Natasha scrounge up extra blankets for them to sleep in since the indians burned the house the Benson's had built for Alisha's family. They all snuggled up and went to sleep. But not without Clarence as guard. He would switch with Charles and Brad at certain times so that if anything was heard then everyone could be awakened. Jonny dreamed sweet dreams with Alisha and good times with Willy.
