It had been weeks since Riri and Mallory left and I was definitely starting to feel the difference.

Shuri was trying her best to keep me entertained, but I knew she still had her own responsibilities to handle.

I found comfort in coming to our spot and journaling whenever she wasn't around, which is what I was currently doing.

That was until a presence made itself known beside me.

"Hi" The familiar voice filled the silence, making me look up, quickly closing the notebook.

There she stood with her usual smile on her face.

"Hi Nadia." My tone came out more annoyed than I was expecting it to.

"Did your friends leave?" She asked, taking a seat beside me on the ground.

"Yeah, they left a couple of weeks ago. How did you know they were here?" I asked, completely forgetting about us seeing her that one time.

"I saw you with them at the restaurant. I would have said hi, but I didn't want to interrupt."

I nodded, replaying that night and the information that I was told when we saw her.

"You're into photography?" I asked, referring to the camera that was hanging around her neck.

I wasn't really interested, I just wanted to change the subject.

"It's just a hobby. Are you into writing?" She pointed at the notebook in my hand.

"Just an outlet, to control some of my overthinking." I shrugged.

"Overthinking?"

Maybe I should've came up with a different excuse.. Now I feel obligated to talk to my girlfriends ex about my problems.

Great.

"You don't have to explain." She laughed, reading the expression on my face, making me let out a relieved sigh. "Why aren't you with Shuri?"

"She's in her lab, there's too much technology in there that I feel like I would mess up."

"She hasn't changed." She let out a chuckle, making me tense up.

It's weird to know that she knows her the way that I do.. She probably knows her better.

"Do you have any of your photos with you?"

Redirecting the conversation to her was the only way I knew how to avoid an awkward conversation, and I may have wanted to see them.

"Most of them are in my workroom. Do you wanna see?" She lit up as she talked about it.

I was a little hesitant, but I knew I would feel bad if I said no.

"Sure.." It sounded like I was trying to convince myself too. "So everyone here just has their own little labs?"

"Something like that." She laughed as we stood up from the ground, leading the way to her photo workroom.

It wasn't too far away. It was more like a little hut in a secluded area.

Photos were hung up everywhere. Hidden gems in Wakanda, different people, sunsets, and sunrises. It was pretty impressive.

One photo in particular caught my attention instantly, making me walk over to the corner that it was in.

"Is this you and Shuri?" I asked, pointing to the photo that was hanging up.

She nodded as she walked over to where I was standing with a smile on her face.
