“Okay, you got this y/n… This is just a school reunion with all the people you knew in college.” She says when she finishes putting makeup on.
She puts on her coat, turns off the lights, and closes the door. She drives until she arrives in front of the college. She stops the car and looks at who she can recognize. There’s nobody she can recognize, except Frank. He arrives with a little girl and a woman. She turns her head to avoid his look if she looks at her. When she checks if he enters the college, she goes outside the car, locks it, and goes inside the college.

She recognized some faces that she didn’t wanna see again.
“Hey y/n.” She turns around and looks at Sophie.
Oh god. Help me. “Hey, Sophie.”
“How are you?”
“Good, thank you. What about you?”
“Oh you know, like the old time.”
Please someone save me from this conversation. Sophie was talking about her job and her family. She presents her husband. Yeah, she has the perfect life, while Ishe doesn’t have a husband, she works in a bakery, she doesn’t have the perfect life as everyone around her. She looks towards the bar until he makes eye contact with her, but she goes back to the conversation.
“Sorry, I need to go Sophie. Nice to see you again.” She says when she interrupts her and walks away from the crowd.

She walks down the aisle and stops when she sees her ancient history class. She goes towards the seats and stops until she sees a table where two initials were written: “Y/I + F”
She sighs. “Why did I fall in love with you?” She whispers.

She starts to go out of the class until she sees the man who broke her heart. Frank motherfucking Adler. “Damn, you scare the shit out of me!” She puts her hand on her chest.
“Sorry, that wasn’t the attention.” He was leaning against the door, arms crossed.
“What do you want, Adler?”
“Wow, you’re really mad at me.” He raises his eyebrows.
“You broke up with me, don’t you remember?” She crosses her arms.
“And that was a mistake.” He looks at his feet.
“Yeah, but now you have a wife and a daughter, so…”
“Daughter? Wife?” He frowns and scoffs. “Come on y/n. The little girl you saw is my niece Mary. And that girl was nothing.”
“Diane has a daughter?” She was so confused right now. It’s been a long time since she didn’t talk with Diane after what happened with Frank.
“Had…” He sighs. “She died 6 years ago…”

She couldn’t be mad at him anymore. After what he just told her, she wanted to hug him. But I don’t know how he’ll react.
“I’m sorry… Diane was my best friend. I can’t beli-”
“She committed suicide. I found Mary on the couch and Diane in the bathroom, a lot of blood on the floor. I couldn’t save her, but I could save Mary.”
“Oh, my god.” She covers her eyes.
He starts to approach her but stops at the desk in front of her. He sits on the table and crosses his legs and arms.
“She wanted us to be together. Here we are now. Both in our ancient class.”
“She kinda sent you here.” She chuckles lightly.
“How are things doing now?” He wanted to talk about something and she understands him.
“Things are okay. I’m working in a bakery that I own.”
“That’s so amazing but I wasn’t talking about that…” He leans on the table, watching her closely.
“If you think that I have a boyfriend, well, you should stop thinking about that.” She walks towards the windows. “Because no one loves me.” She crosses her arms.
“I love you.” He approaches her slowly.
She scoffs. “You’re just saying that to feel sorry for me.”
He wraps his arms around her. “No, that’s the truth.” He whispers. He turns her around. “I’ve always loved you. I know I made a mistake when I broke up with you, but you know Evelyn, she always sees people differently than I see them. But now, I want to be with you again.”

“Frank?” Both of them turn their head.
“Roberta, this is…” He pulls her but she stops him. “y/n… I told you about her.” She looks at him. Really? He talks about me all this time? Damn, he’s really in love with me.
“Oh yeah, nice to meet you. I’m Frank’s and Mary’s kinda babysitter.” Roberta looks at him.
“Nice to meet you too, Roberta” She chuckles and Roberta pulls her into a hug.
“Mary is looking for you, she wants to go home.” She said to Frank.
“Tell her I come in.” She nods and goes join Mary who was with one of her friends.

“You should go, that little girl needs her uncle.” y/n says when she was grabbing her purse.
“Come with me, I want you to meet her.” He gives her his hand. She didn’t take it, she knows that she misses him but she doesn’t wanna be hurt again. “I promise it won’t happen again, Evelyn and I don’t talk anymore. She won’t separate us again.”
She takes his hand and they intertwine their fingers, like the old time.
“God, I missed that so much...” She sighs and smiles. He smiles.
“I missed that too…” He tucks her hair behind her ear, puts his other hand on her cheek, and kisses her. It was a tender kiss, the kiss that he wanted again with her. She puts her other hand on her elbow for avoiding to fall. He pulls away and puts his forehead on hers.
“I love you.” He whispers.
“I love you too Frank.”
“Let’s go meet your goddaughter.” He starts to walk outside until she stops him.
“Wait, what?”
“Oh, uhm, Diane chose you for being Mary’s godmother.” He scratches his head. “You were her best friend after all.”
She smiles and pecks his lips. “Let’s go meet Mary.”
They both go back to join Mary and Roberta.
“Mary?”
The little girl turns around and looks at y/n. She really looks like her mother.
“Mary, this is y/n, your godmother.” He presents Mary to her.
“Hey, Mary…” She kneels to her size and Mary hugs her immediately.
She was surprised by her actions but she didn’t stand back, she hugs her tightly. y/n stands up and Frank wraps his arm around her waist.
“Frank, can we go eat hot dogs? I’m hungry…” Mary whines.
They laugh. “Yes, we can go eat hot dogs Mary.”
They all go to the diner next to the college. Mary wanted to eat her hot dog with Roberta outside. Frank guessed why she asked that, he nodded and lets her eat outside with Roberta.

“I forgot how that was delicious.” y/n said when she was eating. “The setting, the mood.”
“Yeah, that was a great time…” He says when he puts a French fry in his mouth.
“I missed our time together.” She confesses when she was lowering her head.
He takes her hand and rubs the back of her hand with his thumb. “I missed that too, all of this because of Evelyn.” He sighs.
“Why didn’t you call me, or even send a letter?” y/n asks with tears in her eyes.
“I sent you letters.”
“I never received them.” She was telling the truth. He was always giving her mother his letter for y/n but Frank guesses that she didn’t send them. She probably burns them or even puts them in the trash.
He sighs. “Evelyn… She probably threw them…” He was so pissed right now. He leans his arms on the table. “But, trust me, I never forgot you. I was always thinking about you, even Diane…” He confesses to y/n. “You’re the love of my life.”
She smiles lightly and lets her tears fall down her cheeks. He wipes her tears and kisses her cheek.
“Come on, let’s finish eating and then we go join the girls.”

They finish their dinner and they join Roberta and Mary to go home.
They arrive at Frank’s house, Mary was sleeping on Roberta. He starts to take Mary out of her arms but Roberta holds her.
“You deserve a night with y/n. I take care of her.” She says before she goes into her house.
He fidgets his keys. “All right, I should go.” She says when she tries to go but Frank grabs her wrist.
“Frank…  Let me go.” She tries to go but he’s too strong for her.
“No… Never again…” He turns her to him and kisses her. She wraps her arms around his neck.
“Come home with me.” He whispers in her ear before he kisses the crook of her neck.
“Make me…” She says.
