A FEW WEEKS LATER

Nikki was back over at Vince and Tommy's apartment. Tommy found an American recipe that he liked the look of and wanted help making it. So while Tommy dragged Nikki grocery shopping, Vince hopped over next door.

"So... I wanted to ask you somethin"

"Hm?"

"Uhm... what would you think about moving into a new place, with us?" Vince nervously asked. "Uh... it'll be cheaper than what we've both got now. It's uh... closer to Tommy's school, which is why we were looking at it and, y'know, we like you guys so-"

"I'll talk to Nikki about it, but I think it's a good idea" Mick said, cutting Vince off.

"I-you do?" Vince asked.

"I do. But... do you really want us living with you?" Mick asked. "I mean... don't you want better roommates?"

Vince glared over at Mick with hooded eyes.

"Honey. When're you gonna believe you're worth being around?" Vince asked.

Mick didn't reply and just looked away from Vince.

"Hey" Vince said. He slid next to Mick on the couch. "I might not know what it feels like to not belong anywhere, but I can imagine. Not that I don't think you guys belong anywhere, or that you can't support yourselves or anything it's just-" Vince started panicking.

Mick was a little amused.

"Vin"

"You two are very smart, very independent people-" Vince rambled.

"Vince"

"I just think that it could be cool to have you guys around! I mean Tommy and Nikki get along great and-"

"Vince"

Vince opened his mouth to continue his ramble when he caught the look on Mick's face, and closed his mouth.

"I told you I talk too much" Vince said.

"You do, but, you talk enough for the both of us, so I guess I'm not gonna complain" Mick said.

Vince hummed and plopped his head on Mick's shoulder. He perked his head up and smiled.

"Come on a ride with me, I wanna show you where it's at" Vince said. "Please?" He asked. He fluttered his eyelashes at Mick.

Mick nearly just gave in. In fact... he did.

"Fine" Mick said.

"Really?" Vince asked, hope shining in his eyes.

"Don't make me change my mind, Vin" Mick said.

Vince playfully narrowed his eyes.

"You wouldn't"

Mick just looked down at him.

"Okay, you would. Cmon, let's go!"

•••

"It's beautiful, isn't it" Vince said.

It was sunset. They had driven up to a rather secluded part of Hollywood that looked over the city.

"It is"

Vince hummed in contentment. A breeze came through, causing him to shudder slightly and scoot closer to Mick.

"Told you you shoulda brought a jacket" Mick teased. He slipped off his own and draped it over Vince's shoulders.

"Aren't you cold?" Vince asked, huddling under the weathered leather jacket.

"I am, but I've slept in it long enough to not be bothered by it" Mick shrugged. "Plus, Indiana gets colder, so, it's not too bad"

"You're from Indiana?" Vince asked, laying his head on Mick's shoulder.

"Mmhm" Mick hummed. He let his head fall back against the tree they were huddled in front of.

"Y'know, this was my favorite spot when I ran away" Vince said.

"Was?"

"Yeah... haven't been here in a while though. Never wanted to come back. It's... it's where I found Tommy, and it's also where my ex girlfriend found me to tell me she was pregnant" Vince said quietly. "But... maybe it'll still be my favorite spot, I got to watch a sunset with you" he said shyly. He felt his face get red hot as he tried hiding in Mick's jacket.

"Cheesy" Was all Mick said. He held Vince close to him and gently ruffled his hair.

Vince nuzzled into Mick's hand and tucked his head into the crook of Mick's neck. Mick slid his arm further around Vince's shoulders and rested his head against Vince's.

Mick wasn't sure how to feel. He felt wanted, warm. He felt protective over Vince... but not in the same way as he does with Nikki. He wasn't quite sure how it was different... it just was. He felt Vince's nose brush against his ear and hot breath against his cheek. He felt himself get butterflies.

Vince ghosted his lips on Mick's cheek, gently pressing a kiss, almost too soft to where Mick could barely feel it.

Mick ran his fingertips down Vince's back.

He felt himself give in completely when Vince turned their heads together and leaned in. Vince had the gentlest hold on his jaw as Vince pressed the softest, sweetest kiss he's ever felt on his lips. His other hand rested under Vince's knee when he pulled it up over Mick's lap.

"Is this too much?" Vince whispered.

Yes. Mick suddenly felt lightheaded, but from a different high... a good high.

"No" he whispered.

Vince slowly, but smoothly straddled Mick's lap without breaking their kiss. He gently cupped Mick's jaw with both hands. They separated with a soft click. Mick laid his hands gently on Vince's waist. He craned his neck slightly to bump their noses together, and Vince leaned down and met him the rest of the way, pressing another sweet, soft, and loving kiss.

"I like you... Vince whispered. "A lot"

"I think I like you too"
