"Hey, Mick?" Tommy called into the kitchen from his piano.
"What's up, T" Mick said, walking over to him.
"What do you think of...?" Tommy questioned as he played a few different chords.
He listened to the chords and thought a moment.
"Play em again?" Mick said, he grabbed one of his guitars and leaned against the wall by the piano.
Tommy continued to play chords while Mick matched them on his guitar.
"You know... I like you and Vinny together" Tommy said, he looked up at Mick with a soft and friendly smile. "You are smart, Vinnie not so much, he is blonde, and you are not" they both chuckled. "You just... uhm..." Tommy linked his fingers together, trying to find the right words. "Complete together... is that uh, a good word?" He asked.
"Yeah T, it is, and... thank you, it means a lot to hear that" Mick smiled softly at Tommy.
It was almost ridiculous now absolutely sweet and innocent Vince and Tommy were. It's like they were angles sent down from Heaven to watch over a couple of broken souls, wanting to repair them and turn them into angels too.
"I'm glad that Nikki has warmed up to you, I think you guys make a good team" Mick said.
"A... good team?" Tommy questioned.
"A good team is like... you two get along good and are really good friends, Nikki says you've been teaching him to cook?" Mick asked.
"I have! He is not very good yet, but! He is good at reading, which I am not, and he is good at helping, which Vinny is not. But, I think he will get the uh... uhm... how do you say...?"
"The hang of it?"
"Yes! The hang of it" Tommy said. "Vinnie says I'm doing good at English, but I think I mess up a lot"
"Nah, I think you're doing great" Mick said.
"Really?" Tommy asked, eyes wide with endearment from the praise.
"Yeah kid" Mick smiled.
They mindlessly played songs that they knew together and waited for Nikki and Vince to get back. They ended up playing music for a couple more hours.
"Hey... do you think you can do a favor for me today?" He asked.
"Sure! What is up?" Tommy asked.
"Do you think you can take Nikki to dinner for his birthday?" Mick asked, holding up some cash he had in his wallet.
"Yes absolutely! Nikki is a very good guy, I like him a lot, very cute and special" Tommy said with a shy giggle. "Like baby deer, baby deer are special, puppies too." He laughed. "I talk too much. Vinnie talks a lot too"
They both laughed as Mick was handing Tommy some cash.
"No no, I do not need it. How about you keep it and take Vinnie out for dinner? His birthday is happening soon too!"
"That's... a good idea, thank you, Tommy"
They both went back to playing songs together without another word.

Vince and Nikki had the last of their stuff in their van. Even with fully emptying two apartments, they did not own a lot between the four of them. All Nikki and Mick owned was a few shared outfits, a box of music equipment, a small box of books, some blankets, and a few dishes. They dumped their broken down furniture.
The apartment was still pretty bare, but they figured with splitting the rent between the four, they can attempt to spruce the place up a bit.
Vince and Nikki more or less snuck into the apartment, not wanting to intrude on the beautiful music that was infiltrating their apartment.
"I still don't understand" Vince said quietly. He looked up at Nikki. "You're like a Hollywood dream team"
"More like... trash kings" Nikki said quietly. "But he is good though, isn't he" he said. He wasn't really sure if he was talking about Mick, or Tommy.
They were both damn fine players.
Mick and Tommy eventually stopped playing after they realized they were being watched. Vince smirked and sauntered over to where Mick was standing and rested an arm on his shoulders.
"Don't stop cuz of us" he said. "Hey sugar" Vince kissed Mick's cheek, causing both Nikki and Tommy to smile at the sweetness between the two.
Nikki noticed how much Mick's demeanor immediately softened when Vince walked into the room. Nikki's never believed in true love, but that's because he's never felt it himself. Maybe it does exist, maybe if it can exist for Mick, it can exist for him too.
"Does Mick know you talk a lot, Vinnie?" Tommy teased.
"Uh! Dude! I do not talk a lot" Vince said defensively. "Thank you, thanks a lot"
"Oh! I forgot, I have a place to be, want to come with me, Nikki?" Tommy asked.
"Soooo convenient" Vince said under his breath.
"You sure?" Nikki asked.
"I am always sure" Tommy said, putting his shoes on.
Nikki looked at Mick.
"You can go" Mick said. He gestured for Nikki to come closer. "Happy birthday, Nik, go have fun" he whispered.
"Oh... thank you" Nikki smiled. He hugged Mick around his guitar before going off with Tommy.
"It's his birthday today?" Vince asked.
"Yeah, I always try to do something for it, but I figured I'd see if Tommy wanted to do something with him" Mick shrugged. "He deserves something different with someone better"
Vince sighed, knowing that no matter how hard he tried, Mick would never believe he's the best thing to happen to Nikki.
"We can unpack boxes later... but for now... I want kisses" Vince said with a gentle smile.
He draped his arms around Mick's neck and shoulder and pulled him closer. Mick laid his hands on Vince's waist as they brushed their noses together before brushing their lips together.
"I love you" Vince whispered. "Wanna lay with me? They'll probably be gone for a while, give your back a rest"
"Yes please... thank you" Mick muttered against Vince's cheek as he pressed a kiss.
"I hope they're gone a while anyways, I just want some quiet time with you" Vince said.
"Y'know... Tommy was right..." Mick whispered.
"Oh god... what did he say this time?"
"Well, he said a lot of things" they both chuckled.
"Did he call me stupid?" Vince cocked an eyebrow.
"Ah, well? I think he called you a dumb blonde" Mick said, running his hand through the ends of Vince's blonde hair.
"That bastard" Vince laughed. "He's not wrong through. What else did he say?"
"That we complete each other"
"Oh baby... we definitely do" Vince whispered. He brushed a thumb across Mick's lip and leaned in. "Cmon sugar, I want snuggles"'
