Nikki finally admitted himself into rehab, and Mick decided it was time that he gets help too. Neither of them could walk well on their own, they looked so emaciated, and they looked like they should be on their deathbed.
"Promise me we will get married when you come back" Tommy said, cupping Nikki's face.
"I promise, baby, if you'll still have me" Nikki said, clinging onto Tommy for support.
"I love you baby, I cannot wait" Tommy said sweetly.
Vince didn't want to let Mick go at all. He spend most of his energy clinging to Mick and stayed in his line of sight.
"I'll call you everyday" Mick murmured in Vince's ear. "So I can tell you and the girls how much I love you. I'm so sorry it's like this..."
"S'okay, baby, you're gonna feel better" Vince said, his voice wavering.
"Don't let Lizzie take her first steps without me" Mick said, wiping tears from Vince's face. "Storm's in charge" he teased. "We won't be gone long" he assured.
"We'll visit, huh babydoll?" Vince looked down at Storm, who nodded.
"I'm sorry baby..." Mick hugged her close to him. "I haven't been a good dad..." he whispered.
"It's okay, daddy" She said sweetly, hugging her father back. "How long will you be gone?" She asked.
"Couple months" Mick said. "I need to be better for you guys" he kissed the top of her head. "Take care of Vince for me, okay?" He asked quietly, making her giggle.
"Let's go get you two checked in..." Vince said. "Need help walking in?" He asked quietly.
"Yes please..." Mick sighed. He stood on shaky legs.
"Can I come too daddy?" Storm asked.
"Sure honey" Mick took one of her hands.
Vince picked up the baby carrier and wrapped his free arm around Mick's waist, walking him up the few stairs. Storm and Lizzie sat on the chairs while Vince got Mick checked in and waited for Tommy and Nikki.
Nikki had to be carried in by Tommy since he started to feel nauseous and his vision went blurry.
They finally got Nikki checked in, and they all said one more goodbye before they were lead to their room.
Vince sighed and Storm came up to him.
"Hey babydoll. Let's go out for lunch, hm?" Vince said, rubbing her hair. "Ice cream?"
Storm tucked her head into Vince's stomach and nodded. He kissed the top of it and held her hand as they went out to the car.
They picked up lunch from a drive in and ate in Storm's favorite park.
"You can go play on the toys if you want, your sister is still sleepin" Vince said as they finished their food.
She excitedly got up and skipped away. He watched her as she seemed to make quick friends. She played with another little girl that looked around her age. He looked around, seeing if he could spot the other girls parents, maybe he'd bring her down more often for play dates. He made sure to take photos to show Mick later. He watched carefully as he watched Storm play with the other girl, they walked over to who Vince assumed was her parents. She pointed over to Vince and waved. Vince smiled and waved back. She skipped over to him and sat in his lap.
"Hey babygirl, havin fun?" Vince asked, kissing her head.
"Ah huh! I made a new friend" She said happily.
"Good job, honey" Vince said warmly. "What's her name?"
"Ashley, we wanted to stay longer, so I was told to come ask you" Storm said.
"Course honey, are those her parents over there?" Vince pointed to the table closest to the park toys.
"Ah huh" Storm said.
"Cmon, I'll walk over there with you" Vince said.
He picked up the baby carrier and Storm took his hand, walking over to the other table.
"You must be Stormy's dad!" The woman on the bench said.
"Yes ma'am" Vince said, "that must make you Ashley's mom"
"Sure is, please, sit" she said, she scooted over and Vince sat next to her.
"I'm Vince" he said, holding his hand out.
"Heather," she said. "They're so cute playing together. Who's your little one?" She asked.
"Lizzie" Vince smiled. "So glad she's still sleeping away"
The sun started setting a bit and the girls were finally worn out. They came back over to the table and Storm hopped up in Vince's lap.
"Hey baby girl" Vince said, rubbing her back. "Ready to go?"
Storm nodded and stood up. They said their goodbyes at the park after scheduling a play date for later that week. They went and got ice cream at their favorite place. Mint chocolate for Vince, bubblegum for Storm, and even a little chocolate for Lizzie.
After they got home, little Lizzie was put to bed, and Storm hopped in the bath.
"Can we watch a movie before bed?" Storm asked as Vince washed her hair.
"Course hon, what do you wanna watch?" Vince rinsed her hair out.
"I dunno..." she shrugged, playing in the bubbles.
"You can flip through em and we can watch whatever" Vince said. "Get dry, I'll go get your clothes"
After Storm got dry, and Vince got her dressed and warm, they cuddled up on the couch, watching an old slasher movie.
"This is your daddy's favorite too, know that?" Vince asked.
"I love it too" she said sweetly.
Storm ended up falling asleep halfway through. Vince picked her up and tucked her into bed, kissing her forehead, and slinking off into his own room.
It felt cold and empty. He changed into some of Mick's clothes and laid on his side of the bed. He read one of Mick's books for a while before he heard a soft knock on his door. He watched as Storm popped her head in.
"Hey honey, what're you doin up?" Vince asked, setting the book down.
"I miss my daddy..." She said sadly.
"Come here, sweetie" he said, sitting up.
He opened his arms for her to crawl into. He kissed the top of her head and hugged her.
"You wanna stay in here tonight?" Vince asked.
Storm nodded and they laid back down. She snuggled close to Vince and soon fell back asleep.
