The doctor smiles deviously at me. "A wicked plan, lady Integra, but absolutely just."
Petra glances between us nervously.
"Petra, I must inform you that this is going to be quite embarrassing. But it's for your own good. I cannot stand unfaithful people."
"Y-you promise not to hurt him?" She asks again.
I take a deep breath. "Honestly, no, I cannot promise that. He hurt you, and unless he was forced to be unfaithful, which is rare, who's to say he won't hurt you over and over? The only thing that truly keeps a spouse is a spouse who wants to be kept."
A few silent minutes later, we pull up in front of their town house. Excusing myself from the carriage, and then turning to help Petra out, I ask her to wait there with the doctor. Letting myself in the walkway, I cross the small square and look around. What a cute plot! I could absolutely live here. Approaching the door, I lift my hand to knock and hear some odd sounds beyond the door. Suddenly disgusted, I fling the door open and follow my ears. They lead me to a bedroom, the door slightly cracked. I already know that whoever that women is, is not Petra because she's with the doctor outside. Silently, going back to the front door, I push it shut and latch it, trapping myself inside with the adulterous couple. I really should have brought a guard to arrest these two! Once they realize I'm gone without warning, they'll send one after me anyways. I might as well be the one in prison, as much as I'm guarded and kept under lock and key.
Quickly, securing any other exits, I take a deep breath and shove open the bedroom door. At first they don't see me. I'm unsure if that's to my benefit. Then, the pair somehow end up facing me and both scream, the young lady falling off the bed backwards, landing with a 'thud'.
"Your majesty! W-what are you doing here?!" Elias asks, fumbling for some type of covering. I see how much he cares for the young woman, who is trying to crawl past me out the door. I stick my foot out in front of her, blocking her path with my leg.
"Embarrassing and pathetic. Repulsive. BOTH of you." I throw the lady the himation that's haphazardly thrown on the dresser near the door. "Get up and compose yourselves."
A few minutes later, they both sheepishly step out of the bedroom. I shake my head.
"Elias Argyros. You pathetic excuse of a man. I'm not even going to discuss it with you. I'm arresting you."
He starts to speak. I hold up my hand, enjoying seeing the words get caught in his throat. "I really have no interest in whatever garbage you are about to spit out." I turn towards the woman, who is twisting and tugging the garment on her body, willing it to sit correctly. "And for you, harlot. You're arrested as well. You will both get in my carriage and return to the palace. I'm thoroughly disgusted in BOTH of you." I motion to the door, and follow them out, tugging the door shut behind me. I feel so bad for Petra. This was not what I had in mind at all, but she needs to know this isn't a man worth being sad over.
Elias and Petra make eye contact in the road, and for a split second she seems happy to see him. She even offers a small wave, then freezes when she sees the woman behind him. I could tell she is about to retch from the way she looks, but she turns away, a guttural scream taking its place. I shove Elias in the carriage. And right on time, a hoplite pulls up on a chariot, pulled by two beautiful white horses, his golden armor shining in the afternoon sun.
"Princess Integra," his voice thunders around the road, causing some people to turn and look. "You have left palace grounds without permission, and I have been sent to return you safely." He steps off of the chariot, placing his spear, bottom up, in the dirt beside him.
