Dear diary
I decided to be brave and eat in the cafeteria for once. Usually, I eat in one of the bathroom stalls – totally unhygienic, I know – or somewhere hidden from the public.
I order 4 slices of pizza, chocolate mousse and a Coke, and go to sit at a table right at the back of the cafeteria.
After yesterday's incident I've become more positive and my body hurts less, though the bruises are prominent. I haven't seen Caleb or his groupies, so my day has been great so far. Just as I'm about to dig into my meal, I see Caleb and his friends walk into the cafeteria. His eyes scan the room before they stop on me, an evil smirk spreading across his face. He makes his way towards me, the rest following closely behind him.
"Well look what the cat dragged in." he says leaning against the table. Everyone else takes a seat around the table, waiting to hear what I have to say, but I don't dare open my mouth.
"Are you eating for two or something?" Jack asks looking at my pile of food.
"No." I manage to squeak.
The boy sitting to my left, Fin, picks up a piece of my pizza. "You wouldn't mind if I had a piece would you?" Without waiting for my consent, he takes a huge bite of my pizza. Mine.
Noticing my annoyed expression, the girl on my right, Rain, says, "Oh look Fin. I think Fatty wants her pizza back. You should give her what she wants."
Fin nods his head with a serious look. "Indeed I should."
And without warning he wipes the pizza across my face. The entire table, cafeteria actually, bursts out laughing.
"I think she's still hungry." Caleb says with an amused smile.
Rain obediently agrees and opens my mousse before dumping it onto my head. The mousse starts to drip down my face and I wipe it away, along with my salty tears.
"Shame mahn. Let's get you cleaned up." Jack says with a sincere look. I totally fall for it like the dumb idiot I am but my gratefulness is soon washed away – pun intended – by the Coke that is splashed in my face. A few drops get into my eyes and they start to burn, increasing the amount of tears being let out.
Feeling utterly embarrassed, I quickly get up from my seat, grab my bag and run out of the room as fast as possible. The laughs follow me all the way to the bathroom, where I completely break down.
And that is why I don't sit in the cafeteria folks.
