Dear diary

I must be dreaming. Or maybe I hadn't heard her properly.

My parents visited me today, as usual. From the day that the kind nurse bought be food, they've started to bring me food from the store and I have a feeling that the nurse asked them to.

So as I was saying, they came to visit me but something was off. They seemed hesitant to ask me something, so I just stayed silent and waited for them to speak.

Mom took a deep breath and held onto Dad's hand. "We wanted to know if you wanted to take off half a year, after your recovery, to work on yourself. The nurse suggested that we give you time to find yourself and to be who you really want to be. We also wanted to know if you wanted to join the gym, instead of... you know."

I was completely shocked. I mean, whose parents would ever let them take half a year off.

So there I sat, mouth open and eyes wide, as they waited to know what I thought of their idea.

It's kind of weird if you think about it. One month I'm ready to rip out their throats and the next, they're offering me a pass from school. I'm really impressed by their sudden change in attitude; staying by my side and wanting to help me better myself.

After finally processing the information, I agreed, letting them know that they made a great decision and that I will use that time effectively. My brain was already processing different exercises and diets to look up.

Dad told me that he knew a personal trainer but I declined the offer, saying that I wanted to do this by myself. I could see a proud glint in both of their eyes as I said this and it made me want to make them even more pride by becoming a better person, both physically and mentally.

And this time, I knew that I would be able to do it, more than I have ever thought before.
