Empathy links are a weird thing. When everything happened I immediately tried to connect to Percy's dreams, I struggled though.
I started working my subconscious overtime trying to create and connect with everyone from the quest.
I was only able to make a connection with Bridget though after trying for days. But it didn't render me much success.
I had not the slightest clue where I was. Somewhere in a desert was all I could tell.
Desert's are not my favorite place yet in the world. I'm a satyr, nature, plants, animals...that's my thing. Not dead bushes, sand, and tumbleweeds. The few animals I have found are not the nicest.
I had no water sources that I could create an IM with so I was stuck wandering. I luckily still had my bag from the quest, so I wasn't completely without food. But I still had no way of knowing which way would get me home. I prayed to every god begging for a sign to the way home or for simply safe travels.
Dionysus was who I focused my prayers too mostly. I don't have the best relationship with the guy but at least I have one that could carry some weight in him helping me out. The other god who would've helped is Pan, but that's a dead end.
The sun was beginning to go down and I simply sighed...I still could see nothing for miles. I wondered if sitting and camping for the night was a better option than continuing my trek for the day.
After mulling over my option for a while I resolved to continue moving. It would be cooler at night and not as bright, so I could see more with the moonlight.
As the night got darker, I looked to the sky to see if Zoë would be visible in the sky. The constellation of my old friend never failed to bring me comfort when she was able to be seen.
I knew that when I could see her, Artemis was also smiling down on me.
I scanned the stars looking for the familiar huntress shape, but sadly I couldn't find anything familiar.
I looked to the ground feeling defeated. For days, I'd been walking, praying for a sign, looking for anything that might be helpful. But I couldn't even get comfort from a constellation that usually appears naturally.
I collapsed onto my knees with a grunt, I picked up sand and threw it at nothing. But that's when I noticed the light.
In the distance, there was a blueish purple light, it was not something normal for a desert. Maybe it was a mirage.
I shook my head to see if it would disappear. But it didn't.
"ROARRRRR!!"
I looked behind me with a jump. There was a huge monster with bright glowing green eyes, hair all over, a long spine covered tail, and teeth sharper than Percy's sword.
With a loudest scream I've ever screamed (except maybe my Panic) I turned tail and sprinted as fast as possible towards the light I'd seen.
I could hear the beast thundering behind me. I did not dare look behind me...if I did, I would most likely trip and end up as monster chow.
I felt the monster's presence getting closer and closer to me, my legs were burning and I was struggling to breathe, but with one final push of strength I managed to get myself to the source of the light...it was real.
And it was a cave, a cave with an entrance inaccessible to the monster!
I made eye contact with the creature and realized what I had been running from. It was the manticore.
I hadn't faced the manticore since the docks when Dionysus saved us from him. I guess after all this time he had regenerated. I couldn't understand why he would be in this desert though.
The beast roared at me once more before stocking off back into the night. I had a feeling it was not the last time I would see him.
Once he was out of sight I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd still been holding in. I slumped down on the floor of the cave I'd entered and re-steadied my breathing.
I finally was able to calm down enough and take in my surroundings. The light had been coming from the sparkling exposed amethyst geodes on the surrounding walls, the light from the moon was able to get in the cave from a small opening in the cave ceiling.
I only got to enjoy the sight for a moment though, before I heard voices and footsteps coming from deeper in the cave.
I hurried to hide behind a rock and peeled my eyes over to see who or what was coming. It took all my will power to not make any noise.
I tucked my tail down and clenched my teeth. I could feel sweat forming on my forehead as the noises got closer.
I began seeing moving shadows on the wall getting closer and closer. First the manticore and now this.
My fragile heart couldn't take much more. I prayed to every single God that whatever was coming my way wasn't a monster or predatory towards satyrs.
I heard shuffling and then people speaking.
"I still can't believe I did that," one of the voices said. It sounded feminine...and kind of familiar.
"You were totally badass. Thank you for trusting me," a different female voice spoke. Both voices sounded familiar.
"We trusted each other. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you believing that I could do it," the first voice spoke again. The people were getting closer.
I held my breath waiting to see the two figures
emerge."Or without me pushing you," the other girl laughed. I could finally see the two people.
I gasped and ran as fast as I could out from behind my rock.
It was Thalia and Reyna.

Hey guys! Currently almost midnight as I'm writing this lmao. Bouta past tf out. Gotta love when co-workers don't do their job and leave it to the closers to clean up their mess because they are genuinely clueless or just simply lazy even after working at the job for months now. Anyway. Sorry for the rant. Please send me feedback <3
