"Piper, you know you don't have to be that mean," I said quietly on the train.

She looked at me and laughed, "That bitch thinks she's so much better than everyone, I need to put her in her place. There's no harm and showing helpless brats the right way or order of things."

I rolled my eyes, "So, what are we going to go do today?" I asked her.

Piper simply sighed, "I honestly don't know, I just wanted to get out of the school. Up to you."

"Can we go to Wizard Wheezes?" I asked her.

She nodded, "Why not."

After the short ride we finally got to Hogsmeade. Piper put her arm around me and laughed, "Let's go have fun, Valdez."

Piper has been my best friend as long as I could remember, we'd grown up together because our families were friends. Even though she can be bitchy sometimes, deep at heart she was really kind and a great friend.

She was there for me when my mother died and her father took me in, we both had parent problems, only one parent had been there for our childhoods and then mine died...Piper was lucky to still have her father even if they didn't always see eye to eye.

She tries so hard to impress him and get his attention and but no matter what she does anymore he doesn't care. They used to be best friends until he met his step wife.

My mother was my best friend until she died in a fire...I don't remember how the fire started...but I had dreams that there was an old lady in a cloak.

After Piper, my best friend was Rachel Dare. She was in Ravenclaw. Piper and Rachel have never met but in our first year Rachel and I met and we bonded over a special situation...

Rachel keeps telling me that I need to find some good guy friends that can match my dumbass energy.

I haven't been able to find any guys like that. Draco was too serious and not a lot of people in my house like me because they find me annoying. I don't see many people out of my house so it's difficult.

Tonight is a really special night for Rachel and I though, so I am going to be breaking away from Piper at some point and going to see her. Piper easily makes other friends so she won't be alone.

We walking through doors of the Weasley's shop. Well...singular Weasley. Yeah, yeah I am in Slytherin I'm not suppose to care about Gryffindor, but I respected the Weasley twins and their superior pranking skills. I felt the heart of the jokesters community break when he passed in the war.

I took notice of two taller boys also in the store, both with nicely tanned skin, one with blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and glasses, and the other with black hair, sea green eyes and a crooked smirk.

Percy Jackson and Jason Grace.

I looked around to see if their other friend was with them. Ron Weasley. He didn't like me very much, no reason in particular but just because he has had so many bad experiences with Slytherins he is not quick to trust. Neither is Hermione Granger...but she a bit kinder about it.

I was always a bit jealous of the friendship between Ron, Percy, Hermione, and Jason. Especially Jason and Percy. Same year, same interests, same house, they're lucky.

"Hey!" I felt a hand in my shoulder.

I flinched and looked around, I hadn't noticed the two boys had disappear, I looked behind me to find two smiling male faces.

"You were just staring off into space, you okay Valdez?" Percy asked me.

I nodded, "Yeah, sorry. I'll be on my way." I tried to make a quick escape but Jason stopped me.

"No, Valdez, wanna browse with us then go to Three Broomsticks later?" he asked, "McLean seems a bit occupied right now, you could use some friends." Jason pointed over to where Piper was flirting with some guys in Ravenclaw.

I sighed, thanks a lot Piper, now I have to talk to people, I thought and then just gave the two boys a smile, "Sure, why not, but I'm gonna have to jet at some point I'm meeting a friend here later."

Percy eyes widen and he nudged Jason. Jason rolled his eyes and ignored him, "I think we have what we need if you're all good. I've been wanting to go to the broom and quidditch shop if that's alright with you guys."

Percy nodded and I shrugged, "I know what I need so let me just grab that and check out and then I'm okay with going there." The two boys nodded and walked with me to where I was going and I grabbed what I needed then we headed out.

Percy was fiddling with a pen in his hand while Jason was looking at brooms and other gear. I don't think I've ever seen Percy get on a broom. Jason ok the other hand was probably one of the best chasers in school. He moves effortlessly in the air as if he controls it.

"There should be some kind of sport that is done in the water. Because I'd be all for that," Percy said he then looked at me, "Can't you see into the Black Lake from your common room? Isn't it underneath it?"

I nodded, "Yeah. We see the giant squid a lot."

"He has a name you know," Percy mumbled.

I cocked my eyebrow, "The squid has a name?" ...maybe Percy was a bit off his rocker.

Jason laughed, "Percy has a weird thing about water. His sister too. I think they're somehow related to mermaids. They says the squids name is Reginald."

I laughed, "That's interesting." I checked my watch. "Damn, I gotta go, my friend will be waiting for me. Thanks for hanging out guys." I smiled and we waved goodbye and I rushed out to find Rachel.
