The drive back to base was rather quiet, price had asked graves if he'd wanted to play some music which he had agreed to. Price slid him over the aux cord and he plugged it into his own phone, him and price didn't exactly have similar music taste. Most people on the 141s base were quick to assume he was into country music, only because he's an American. Yes they were stereotyping him but yes they were also correct but, not the type of country music they'd assumed. He wasn't a huge fan of "yeehaw beer, tractor, farm, hot girls" type country music. He prefers "kill your husband" type country music.
Graves scrolled through his playlist for a minute before finally finding a song he'd thought that maybe both of them would like. Before he cheats by Carrie Underwood(this song got me MEOWING). A song he was a rather big fan of, one he listens to often.
He clicked on the song and waited for it to play before he placed the phone down in the cup holder of the vehicle since it wasn't occupied.Phillip leaned back in his seat and tapped his finger on his thigh to the beat of the song. He hummed along with the lyrics and his little taps sped up and got rougher, maybe more aggressive, as the song went on.
Price looked over at the blonde man beside him and smiled before returning his focus on the road. If they're gonna fuck they gotta both make it home alive, you know.
The sight he saw when he glanced over painted itself in prices overworked brain. The sun had started to set and the golden brightness of the suns rays shined over the pale skin of the American and glimmered over his nicely cut, dirty blonde hair. His eyes fluttered shut as they turned a corner, practically being blinded by the beams of sunlight that shined their way through the windshield.
"ugh" graves groaned quietly as the sunlighy flashed into his eyes painfully, interrupting the peace of him listening to music he enjoyed. His arm coming up to rest on his eyes to shield himself from the wretched beams of golden light.
Price tried his best to hold in his chuckle at the sight of the man being oh so dramatic but failed. His chuckles slipped through his lips and turned into a full on laugh. Graves huffed out in reply, "it's not my fault the damn sun is so bright!" He grumbled.
"You can always flip down the mirror to block it out, Phil." Price informed after he finished his fit of laughter. "Oh, we're on fisrt name basis now, John?" Graves joked as he moved his arm to flip down the mirror as price offered. Price rolled his eyes and nodded.

The two shuffled into the front doors of the base, price looking for a clock as he entered. "Price, what are you doing?" Graves questioned as he followed the man down the hallways, watching how the Brit observed the walls searching for a clock. "Clock, I need to know what time it is." Price mumbled his reply.
Graves looked at him with pure confusion, "Why? Does your watch not work?" He questioned. Price paused at the mention of a watch. He had his on, and it worked perfectly fine. "Oh, right. My watch." Price spoke as he rolled up his sleeves to check the time. 9:04pm. "Gaz better be here." Price mumbled quietly as he took off to the bases barracks. Graves followed shortly behind, just as confused as he was before.
Price knocked on his sergeants door, not hard but loud enough for it to be heard. No response. He knocked again, a little harder this time. Still no response. He gave up and assumed they were sleeping or gaz was. He had other things to get to, worrying for gaz will have to wait. Though he had nothing to worry for.
The captain looked over at the American who had been patiently waiting for him to finish his with his 'dad like instincts'.
And just as price hoped, gaz was indeed home. Happily in bed with his lost puppy(Okay but Alex reminds me of a puppy, JUST LOOK AT HIM<3) of a boyfriend laying curled up to his side.
