Let me help. (A Siva Kaneswaran story)

Chapter 11

Nyx's pov:

My heart sank a little. I knew that I was in a safe place but I still had some fears. These guys keep saying how they would never let anything or anyone hurt me, but there are still somethings that are a danger to me no matter what.

"Will you some with me?" I ask him. He looks at me and nods his head. Together we left the room and headed to the living room. I saw that Nathan and Max were watching a football match. As Siva and I entered the room, Max muted the television.

"Max, you said that you wanted to talk with me?" I tell him. He stands up and motions for me to follow me into the kitchen. I saw Siva sit next to Nathan on the couch. I walked in and saw that he was sitting at the table. I took the seat across from him.

"Nyx, I am really sorry that I scared you. I know that you had a tough life, and to tell you the truth, it breaks my heart. No one should ever have to go through what you had to go through. I respect you for how strong you are. I am sure that you have heard this plenty of times from the other boys, but I will never hurt you. And I will do my best to make sure that no one ever hurts you." He told me. I have never felt so much love before. I nearly broke down right there.

"Max, I really appreciate it. Believe me, it means a lot that you would say this stuff to me. I am sorry that I am not like a normal person. I can't have someone touch me, because it hurts. I hate how I can't hold myself together. Thanks for trying to understand." He smiled when I told him this. I then stood up and walked over to him. As I stood in front of him, I started to have second thoughts about what I was going to do. But I realized that I had to do it. It would help me get better, or closer to normal.

"Max, I want to do something, but I want you to give me permission to do it. It is kind of weird, but it would help me." I tell him. He looked confused. I looked over into the living room. I saw Nathan and  Siva looking at me. Nathan gave me a thumbs up and Siva gave me a smile. As I looked at his smile, I felt something new.

"I will do what ever you want me to do." Max's voice brought me back to reality. I looked back at Max.

"Please, don't touch me. Let me do this." I then reached for his face. He sat very still. I felt his face and I moved to his arms. I saw that he had roses on his upper arm. They were beautiful and they made me smile. I thought that it was funny how a man would have roses as a tattoo. I then felt his chest. I could tell that he worked out. When I was done, I looked at Max.

"May I have your hand?" he asked. I wasn't sure at first, but I gave it to him. He kissed the top of my hand.

"I want to talk to you about something. I am sure that the others want to talk about it too. Do you want me to get the others? Or do you want to?" What did he want to talk to me about? What did they all want to talk to me about? Do I have to leave? I just stood there and thought about these questions. Max must have seen that I was deep in thought. He got up and stood infront of me.

"How about if I go get them." He finally says. I look and see how close he is to me. My heart beat starts to beat a little faster.

"Okay, that's a good idea." I tell him. I follow him out of the kitchen and into the living room. He kept walking and I stayed. I looked over at Nathan and Siva. Nathan got up and walked over to me.

"Hey, do you need a hug?" he asked. I looked at him.

"Um, not yet." Then Tom, Jay, and Max walked into the room. Tom sat down on the loveseat, max sat next to him, Jay grabbed an end seat of the couch, Siva was in the middle, and Nathan stayed standing next to me.

"What do we need to talk about?" I ask them. I just got my heart beat down, and now it is back up. I felt like I wanted to go and hide in the closet again.

"I wanted to ask you about something that Nathan said when he told us about you. He said that you do something. Now, I am not asking you to enroll into a mental hospital, but can you tell us what you do?" Max said. Tom sighed really loud and rubbed his temples. He knew that my father said told everyone about it. Nathan then sat down in a chair.

"Well, he may have told you that I see spirits. Which is true. And it is the reason that I bumped into Siva." Jay just stared at me.

"So, what is it? Do you see them? Or what is it that happens?" Jay said.

"Well, I see them and they see me. I can talk with them. Most of them are crazy and then there are some that aren't. I can see what they looked like before they died. But sometimes I see things that weren't ever human. So then I just see what they want to be percieved as." I tried to explain this in the best way possible, but I haven't ever prepared a lecture for this.
