Chapter 18: Club Eden

The crew meets up at Club Eden. 

"Hey ladies!" says Blue.

Hey Blue. Where's my cousin?" asks Fatima. 

"She is in the back office. I'll let her know you're here."

"Ok."

A few minutes later Zac and Jake arrive. Lori's dude couldn't make it.

Jake asked Andi to dance. 

"T, Madam wants to see you," says Blue.

"Ok. I will be right back Zac." Fatima enters Madam's office.

"Hey, Mimi. What are you doing here? asked Fatima.

"Trying to get some work done. What are you doing here?"

"Just trying to get out and have some fun. You know I just closed on my new house."

"Congratulations. I'm so happy T. Oh, we went need a housewarming."

"Yeah, soon. I have a friend I want you to meet, his name is Zac."

"Do I need to do a background on him? Better yet, what's his full name?

"Oh gosh, Mimi. It's Zachary Taylor."

"Give me a few minutes and I will have it done. But I do want to meet him."

"Let me go and get him," says Fatima.

She brings Zac back to the office. 

"Mimi this is Zac. Zac this is my cousin Marilyn. She owns the club."

"Nice to meet you, Marilyn."

"Do I know you?"

"No." Zac looks confused.

"You look familiar," says Madam.

"I don't think we've met," said Zac.

"Do you like my cousin?"

"Yes."

"I don't play with this one right here."

"I get you," says Zac.

"No, I am serious. You fuck with her; you have to deal with me."

"Yes ma'am."

"Alright. I'm glad we have an understanding. Nice meeting you Zac."

"You too, Marylin."

"It's Madam."

Madam does not like to be called by her government name, Marilyn. The only people allowed to call her that are Fatima, Madea, and her mother Hattie.

Fatima and Zac went back to the club area and danced.

Zac asked Fatima. "Can I buy you a drink?"

"Drinks are on the house," says Fatima. "As long as we are cool, you don't have to pay for anything here."

"Oh, I forgot you got it like that."

"So how did you like my cousin?"

"She is...maybe one day I will see a softer side of her."

"No, you won't, but if you were ever to become family, she will have your back."

"Well, hopefully, one day you will explain it to me more."

Everyone continues to dance, drink, and have a good time. It is now after midnight, and they are ready to go. 

"Before we go let me go say bye to my cousin," says Fatima.

"Okay we will be over here," says Zac.

Fatima goes to the back to Madam's office.

"Hey, Mimi. We are about to go."

"So soon? It's only 12:15. You know the club doesn't get crunked until this time."

"I know but we've been running around packing and moving, and my feet are tired."

"Ok. Well, I will see you soon."

"Good and by the way, your mama said you better come by the house to see her too."

Madam makes a face. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got your results back about Zac."

"Did you find anything?"

"He was arrested once for a drug charge over 10 years ago. Since then, he has been a stand-up guy. He's in real estate and a part of other charities."

"Ok. Well, thank you, Mimi. Love you.

"Love you too, T."
