Chapter 45: Pregnancy

Two months later and Fatima is now 5 months pregnant. She is starting to show a little more and needs some maternity clothes. It's the weekend so she and the girls are going shopping.

"Hey, Fatima. What's up?" Zac asks Fatima on the phone.

"I'm about to go to the mall with Andi and Lori. I'm getting big, I can't fit into any of my clothes anymore." Fatima pouts.

Zac is in Florida to take care of some real estate. He called to make sure everything was good. "Ok. Here I'm about to cash app you some money." Says Zac. Well enjoy yourself and I will talk to you when I get back."

Fatima gets a notification from her cash app. Zac sent her $500.

"This man. I tell you." Says Fatima smiling.

Andi pulls up to pick her up and then picks up Lori on the way.

"Good morning, gorgeous," Andi says as she greets Fatima.

"Good morning and thank you. Even though I don't feel gorgeous."

"That's why we're going shopping."

Fatima has on stretch pants and a T-shirt. It's the only thing she could find that would fit.

"Zac gave me $500 to go shopping with." Says Fatima.

"Aww. How sweet of him." Says Andi. "How are things going with you two?"

"They're going ok. I'm trying to get used to him being gone a lot. At one moment I felt like I couldn't get rid of him."

"Aww," says Andi.

It's funny because ever since the Ian mess I don't like being at that house alone. I keep thinking a hidden camera is somewhere."

"Yeah, I could imagine." Says Andi as they pull up to Lori's house.

"Hey momma, hey Andi," Lori says as she gets in the car.

"Hey girl," they both said.

"So, how are you and Jake doing?" Fatima asks Andi.

"We are doing good. We're just out here dating, taking it slow. We ain't trying to make a baby or a house anytime soon." Replies Andi.

"What are you trying to say?" Asks Fatima.

"That you are moving too fast. Ms. Fast ass." Says Lori.

"Now y'all know I never thought I would be the first one of us pregnant. Especially not like this, unmarried, barely knowing the guy, and while trying to run a new business." Says Fatima.

"I know right? You had us all shocked," said Lori.

"Oh really?" asks Fatima.

Fatima receives a text from Ms. Walts, Ian's mom.

"What does she want?" asks Fatima while looking at her phone.

"Who is it?" asks Andi.

"Ian's mom. She wants to meet up to discuss Ian."

"Are you going to?" asks Lori.

"I don't know." Fatima texts her back.

Fatima: What do we need to talk about?

Ms. Walts: Your name was listed in his Will.

"What the hell?" Fatima blurted out.

"What girl?" asked Lori.

"She said that I am listed in his will."

"Girl, you lying. Well, she lying. Shoot somebody lying," Lori said.

"I don't know, but I will look it up on Monday," says Fatima.

The girls get to the mall.

"Now ya'll know I still got to look fly at work. I'm an attorney, not a schoolteacher," says Fatima.

"Girl, what you got against a schoolteacher?" Lori laughs.

'Nothing, I'm just saying I will mostly be in suits."

She gets mostly dresses with stretchy material, a few dress pants with elastic waistbands, and silk blouses to wear with or without a blazer. She plans to work mostly from home in the next few months.

Zac's POV

Zac has been working a lot in the last two months. Trying to make sure he is stacking his money for when the baby comes. He and Jake went to South Carolina a few weeks ago. He has bought another property building and is now in Florida to close on two more homes. He has also rented out Fatima's condo.

As for his and Fatima's relationship. It is going well. He hasn't stayed over at her house as much because he doesn't want to smother her. He knows she likes her space, but little does he know that she has been enjoying his company. He has also been working on a few other things that he wants to later surprise Fatima with.

Back to Fatima

The girls are done shopping and decide to go to this Italian restaurant to eat. They get seated.

"Do you want an appetizer?" asks Andi.

"No, I'm good. I just want some cheese sticks." Says Fatima.

They order their food and drinks as the cheese sticks arrive.

"Let me go to the bathroom before the food comes." As Fatima gets up to leave, she gets dizzy.

"Fatima, are you okay?" Ask Andi.

Lori and Andi helped Fatima sit down and then gives her some water.

"Where is your phone? We need to call your doctor," says Lori.

Fatima hands Lori the phone. She finds the doctor's number and calls her.

The doctor tells her that it is normal at this stage and when it happens to have a seat for a few minutes. Then take a drink of water and slowly get back up. If it worsens give her a call. Fatima did as she was told.

"Do you want me to walk with you to the bathroom?" asks Lori.

"No, I think I am good now."

When Fatima comes back to the bathroom, she calls Zac to let him know what happened.

He was ready to get on a plane, but she informed him that everything was okay and that she was with the girls.
