Zac gets ready for work the next morning. He gets a text from Fatima.
Fatima: Meet me at my office at 10:00.
He gets to his office and checks his schedule. He doesn't have anything until 1.
He goes to talk to Jake.
"You good man?" asks Jake.
"I'm good, I have a meeting with Fatima, my lawyer today."
"Ok let me know how it goes."
Fatima's POV
Fatima gets all her questions ready to ask Zac. Today was more of a consultation to gather the information she needed.
Her assistant comes to the door. "Your 10:00 is here."
"Thank you, send him right back."
"Hey, Fatima."
"Hi, Mr. Taylor. Have a seat. First, let's get a few things straight. Right now, there is no us. I'm strictly your attorney. Will there be an us in the future? I'm not sure, but for now, let's just keep things professional."
"Wow, ok. Well, thank you for representing me."
Fatima cuts straight to the chase. She asks Zac questions about Karen and his relationship with her back then.
"We have to order a paternity test. If the child is not yours, it should be a short process, but if this is your child, it may be a long and messy process," says Fatima.
"Do you think all this is for money?" asked Zac.
"Well, It's either you or money," Fatima answers.
"That is not the same person I used to date."
"OK, whatever. That's all I need for now. I will let you know what else I find out."
"Thank you again, Fatima."
Zac leaves the law firm and heads back to work.
Karen calls him.
"Hello."
"Hello, Zac. So, are you done playing with me?" asks Karen.
"Playing with you? How about you stop calling me and go through my attorney."
"Who is your attorney? That little whore you call a girlfriend?"
"How do you know her, Karen? Have you been stalking me?"
"Don't worry about it, just take care of me and your daughter."
Karen hangs up.
