"Fatima. When you gone get a man? asked Madea. Somebody to take care of you for a change."
"I don't have much time to date right now," Fatima says as she eats her grandma's soup. "Besides these men out here don't know how to handle a woman with my success."
Fatima was feeling under the weather. She always knows where to go when she is not feeling well or having a bad day. Madea made the best chicken noodle soup, something about her "secret" ingredient made her feel better. She also gave the best advice.
"These young boys are so lazy. What happened to that guy you met from the church? What's his name, Jacobi?"
"Madea. It's Jabari."
"Yeah, him."
"He was lazy," Fatima and Madea both laugh.
"He was cute though," says Madea smoking a cigarette.
"I could hook you two up."
"Oh no, I can't deal with no lazy man, makes my skin itch."
"You are a mess, Madea."
"I'm proud of you, baby. You work hard and deserve the world," says Madea.
"Thank you. I have to get ready to go before you make me get emotional. I have to stop by the office. Oh, and thank you for the soup."
"You're welcome."
"Love you, Madea." Fatima leaves and stops by the office to get some paperwork.
Her phone rings, it's Andi. "Hey, sugar momma. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling a little better. Just left Madea's. She made me some soup. Now I'm headed to the office to get a few things so I can work from home tomorrow."
"Ok. I was just checking on you. Make sure you go home and get some rest."
" Oh, I am. Alright A, I'll hit you back tomorrow."
One hour later, she is home. Runs herself a nice bath water and relaxes.
Fatima lives in metro Atlanta. In a 2 bed, 2.5 bath condo. She is looking to move closer to the office.
The next morning
Fatima goes to her upstairs loft where she has her office set up. She gets an email from her assistant reminding her about the interview for a paralegal.
Ok, good the interview isn't until 11 am so I have time to get some other stuff done. she thought. She makes a few phone calls.
A few hours later
Fatima received a voicemail from her half-sister, Crystal. It's been 5 years since the day she met her. Their relationship is very strained. They were cool the first few years, but that changed when Fatima found her in the bed with her ex, Ian.
What does she want I thought I blocked her ass? Fatima thought. She listens to the voicemail.
"Hey sissy. I'm sorry to bother you, but I need a place to stay for a few days while my apartment is being renovated. Please, please, please." Crystal said on the voicemail.
"Why don't you go stay with Ian?" Fatima mumbled out loud.
She deletes the message and calls Madea.
"Helllur," answers Madea.
"Madea, what are you doing?" asks Fatima.
"I'm watching my sturies. Hold on let me pause it." Says Madea. "Alexer, pause tv."
"Oh my God, Madea. I can't believe she understand what you just said?" Fatima laughs.
"I got her programmed just right. What is it, sweety?"
"That sister of mine called to see if she can stay here for a few weeks while her apartment is being renovated. I don't have time for her."
"So how long are you going to make her pay for what she did?"
"Forever." Fatima pouts.
"You always wanted to have a sibling, don't let a man come between yawl." Madea has a knock at the door. "Hey Tima, let me call you back, that's your aunt Hattie. Love you."
