Giyu POV:

I slowly opened my eyes, the world brighter than it had ever been. As everything slowly focused, I saw Sabito, Makomo and Tsutako waiting for me by the gates.

So this was the afterlife.

Tears flowing down my face, I ran towards them and hugged them tight. I barely remembered dying. All that mattered now was that I was with them again.

"Nee-san...," I sobbed as he clung to his sister, "I'm so sorry I couldn't save you."

"Giyu.. it wasn't your fault," Tsutako said warmly, "I can't believe you lived your life so sadly."

"Sabito.. Makomo.." I turned to his friends, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you too. You should have passed Final Selection, not me."

"Aw, Giyu." Sabito chuckled, "I never once regretted saving you and everyone else. You deserved to be a Hashira and you worked hard."

"Yeah," Makomo agreed, "And you did your best. That's all that matters."

"I-I..." I was overwhelmed. I'd never felt so loved in my life. So this was what it's like... I should have died years ago.

"Also, Giyu.." Tsutako turned to the gates, "There's a lot of people who wants to talk to you over there. Also, I understand one butterfly was a bit upset about your death..."

"Butterfly?" I looked up. "You mean Kocho? I don't think she would be upset..."

"You didn't hear her words to you when you were dying," Makomo explained, "Since your brain wasn't functioning well. Why don't you hear it yourself?"

A big screen started playing my last moments. I didn't remember it at all. I was suprised at how weak and pale I looked. My body was completely healed in the afterlife.

I gasped as Shinobu's words played out in the screen. I never knew she liked me like that. I thought she hated me, like Sanemi and Iguro.

"I know you were bullied a lot as a Hashira, Giyu," Tsutako said, "But it seems like this particular Hashira feels differently."

"No... no way. She's already dating.. another pillar," I told her. Shinobu's wouldn't cheat, would she?

"I've been watching you from the afterlife, and Shigeru isn't who he seems to be," Sabito said, and explained everything to me.

I felt betrayed, hurt, fufilled, happy, everything. Shigeru did seem suspicious, but I couldn't believe Mitsuri was involved. I didn't think she would go to such lengths just to get two people together.

"As I said, there are a few people who would like to speak with you," Tsutako said, "There's Kanae and Tanjiro's family."

"Oh.. right. I should speak to them," I said, pushing open the golden gates.

Kanae Kocho

"So... Tomioka-san, I see that you have my sister's heart, right?" Kanae said, eyeballing him.

"Uh.... I... guess?" I replied awkwardly, blushing.

"You'd better not hurt her," Kanae threatened, but then said, "Oh wait. She's still alive. Oops. Well, when she comes to the afterlife, you'd better treat her right."

"Yes, ma'am," I answered. My face was red-hot.

Tanjiro's family

"Well... you must be Tomioka." Tanjiro's mother said kindly, "We really appreciate you for giving Tanjiro and Nezuko a chance."

"Oh.. of course," I answered. Tanjiro had such a nice family, no wonder he was nice himself. I felt a little sad about leaving him.

His little siblings crowded around me and hugged me tight. They were so cute.

Just like the family I never had as a human.

A/N: So that pretty much wraps up Giyu. Hopefully when Shinobu goes to the afterlife they will get together. Up next: Naomi!
