2015.

"Dude, you've totally got the hots for her, and she's only like what? 20-21?" Ellie teases while nudging me in the arm.

"Shut up." I say, rolling my eyes.

The person we are talking about in particular is a blonde girl, blue eyes, and a fellow teammate who was called up on the reserve list. One Emily Sonnett. First time I saw her, it was like my eyes were about to pop out of my head, she sure does look hot with her toned skin and all. I managed to have a one on one conversation with her, and found out that she's from Marietta, Georgia, is currently in her last year at UGA and that she loves Atlanta just like I do. We've pretty much formed a quick friendship due to us both being from the same state, the similar likes we share and our occasional goofiness.

"Is this a new ship, I hear?" Pinoe suddenly interjected and I sigh and rub my forehead while Ellie starts to laugh.

Tobin then had to get involved too, "I've got a name for them."

"What is it?" Ellie asked in between laughs.

Just as Tobin was going to answer, Christen and Alex enter the room, saving me from the relentless teasing I'm receiving.

The past few years have been kind of the same thing as usual, besides the fact that I'm still in Oakland, we're still stuck in that rut where we either don't make the playoffs or we make playoffs and still lose. But deep down all of us know that 2015 is going to be our year. Players have been a revolving door too. Sarah is currently out as she's pregnant, Kayla suddenly disappeared and from what we've heard, a family emergency is the reason, but we didn't know if that's true. We've tried reaching out to her, but she ain't responding to no one. Before she did leave, she wasn't the normal, calm, funny self that she usually was, she had become more quiet, withdrawn and angry which made her more violent on the pitch. Right now I'm in Vancouver with the National Team, and we just made the finals of the World Cup. Lot's of things have changed between us all too, mainly all of us young ones maturing in a way, as in we've become better leaders, better players and better friends.

"What're you guys pestering Kelley about?" Christen asks, sitting next to Tobin and wrapping her arms around her waist.

"Nothing," I mumble, avoiding eye contact with everyone.

"Kelley has a crush on Emily," Ellie snickers and I swear I can feel my face heat up with embarrassment.

"No, I don't," I protest, but my protests are cut short by Alex's snort of disbelief.

"Yeah, you do," She says, "We all know it. Even Emily probably knows it."

I groan and cover my face with my hands, hoping that the ground would open up and swallow me whole. "It's okay," Christen says, her voice full of understanding. "If you do have one, it's not a bad thing. We all know Emily is an amazing person and you two have a lot in common."

I take my hands away from my face and look at Christen, and then the others. They all were smiling, and I could tell that they were being genuine. I smiled back, relief flooding through me. "Thanks guys," I said, feeling thankful to have such amazing friends.

"Anytime," Alex said, giving me a pat on the back.

We all talked and laughed for a while longer, the conversation eventually turning to the upcoming game against Japan. We all knew that it was going to be a tough match, but we also knew that with the support of each other, we could come out on top. We beat them back in 2012 at the Olympic Games, and we were determined to do it again. As I, Ellie, Alex and Pinoe left Tobin and Christen's room, I thought about Kayla and hoped she was doing okay and that nothing bad had happened to her. "What are you thinking about, Kel? You've got that look on your face when you're thinking about something." Ellie said, her voice filled with concern.
