They say marriage doesn't end at the ceremony. Your commitment to each other doesn't end at your wedding vows. Your willingness to love, care and be with each other in this lifetime doesn't end at "I do."
At first, I thought marriage was the solution to put an end to everything. To end the chase, and to be happy all my life. But, I was wrong.
"It's time."
I scoffed when I glanced at my mom crying at the corner of my room while looking directly at me, as if this will be the last time she'll see me.
"Mom, you're gonna ruin your makeup." I chuckled.
Ngumiti siya't pinunasan ang mga luhang lumandas sa kaniya mga mata. "I just can't believe you're getting married now." she said while trying her best not to cry too.
"So kailan mo pala akong gustong ikasal mommy kung hindi ngayon? Bukas? Next week?" I cracked a joke to lighten up her mood.
"Ikaw talaga. Tama na nga, iyan ang mami-miss ko sa'yo." she pouted as she started crying again.
I bit lip as I stood go to her so I could hug her tightly. "I'll be fine. Hindi naman ako aalis. Ikakasal lang ako mommy, hindi mamamatay." I laughed to tease her.
When we heard that the car had already arrived, I excitedly went outside to see how gorgeous my car would be. It has a ribbon and a bouquet of white tulips in front, my favorite flower. The purity of the car matches perfectly my long wedding gown.
It was so fascinating.
It made me realize that this wedding is really happening.
"Mom, stop crying okay? We'll still see each other at the church." I smiled and waved to my mom before entering the car.
"Okay na po ma'am?" The driver ensured that I'm sitting comfortably at the back.
Ngumiti ako't tumango. "Opo, kuya. Tara na po." saad ko.
I watched the beautiful view outsude, the sun gives hope and light to every living things in this place.
As soon as the car arrived in front of the church, my dad and mom waited for me to get out of the car.
"Nandito na siya!" I heard a loud voice echoed on my ears.
Everyone cheered when I showed myself off. I smiled while looking at my future in law's, waiting for me to arrive.
"You look wonderful, hija." Lorenzo's mother welcomed me as I stood behind the huge door of the church.
"I'm speechless just looking at you, hija. We'll be waiting inside." ani naman ng ama niya.
"Thank you po tita, tito!"
"Kinakabahan ka ba, Catherine?" Daddy asked.
Tumingin ako sa kaniya't ngumiti. "Kaunti. Pero mas lamang ang excitement ko, Dad."
"Basta, palagi ka pa ring dadalaw sa amin ha? Tuturuan kita mag-luto para sa asawa mo." saad ni Mommy.
