The whole team stayed silent, as the shock of watching you pull the trigger overcame them. Your eyes gradually started to open as you snapped out of the trance you were in and realised nothing had happened.

As you looked at the team who were all looking back at you with horror on their faces through their tears, Wood burst out into hysterical laughter. He dropped the gun from Emily's head, and walked over to you, clutching his stomach as if laughing so much was hurting him.

'Oh wow!' He laughed, stopping in front of you. 'I mean, I thought I shouldn't trust you with a loaded gun when you could have tried to shoot me, but I didn't think you'd actually do it!' He mocked, as he burst into laughter again. You couldn't even find any words left in you.

What have I just put the team through?

'Y/n?' Emily whimpered through tears. You looked at her, but you knew there was nothing you could possibly say to reassure her now.

'You fucking prick!' Morgan shouted at Wood. Wood brought his hand up to his mouth in a fake-shocked pose, before returning to laughing. He looked back at you as you sat below him, defeated.

'You didn't really think I was going to let you shoot yourself, did you?' He mocked, as he bent down to get closer to you. 'That would be far too quick.' You looked at him, but nothing he was saying was going in.

'Y/n, say something love.' Emily cried, wanting confirmation that you were okay. You couldn't respond.

'Well...' Wood slapped his thighs and lifted himself up away from you, '...Now for the real performance.' He turned sideways, walking towards the door, flashing a smile back at the team as he did. He disappeared behind the door for a while as he collected what he needed.

'Y/n?' Hotch said. You looked at him. 'It's okay.' He said, sensing you'd be in shock. 'But whatever happens, you can't let him push you like that again.' Hotch knew Wood wasn't done. He wouldn't be happy until the team suffered, and it was clear he'd chosen you as the sacrifice.

'Yes y/n...' JJ started, causing you to turn your attention to her, '...We know you've been struggling, okay. But you can't let him get in your head like that.'

They know?

'We're right here, y/n. It doesn't matter what he does anymore, okay. We're right here.' Reid reminded you. The back of your head started throbbing, and you reached to touch it as the team continued to try and get your attention.

'It's going to be okay, y/n. But no matter what, you can't let him win. We'll figure something out.' Rossi tried to reassure you. But he didn't realise you'd already figured something out, as you felt something sticking out of your hair as you pressed your fingers to your wound.

'Please don't leave me, y/n. We have so much left to do. I'm not finished loving you yet.' Emily said sadly, causing you to look at her. You started dragging yourself towards her, a mixture of pain and weakness making it difficult to carry your weight. As you continued towards Emily, she kept talking, hoping she was getting through to you. 'I promise this isn't it for you. I can't stress enough how much better things will get. There's so much more for you to see, so much more for you to live through.'

At that point, you'd reached Emily. You sat in front of her, looking up at her desperate eyes. You gradually started to lift your body off the floor, sheer determination helping you on your way up. As you got to your feet and straightened your body out, you looked Emily in the eyes. She pulled forwards, her cuffs restricting her from reaching you.
