The next day...
Charlotte woke up to Dutch giving a speech at camp. Blabbering on about him having a plan and such things as Colm O'Driscoll will never get us. But she didn't understand who this Colm was and why was Dutch so focused on that person.
She yawned as she sat up on her bed. Afterwards looking around for her clothes, when she found them, she changed her outfit and left the tent.
As she was trying to get to the coffee pot, Arthur approached her.
"Good morning!" -he waved at her.
"Good Morgan." -she said, rubbing her eye. Arthur stood there silently for a second. She then realized she said Morgan instead of morning.
"I mean, morning!" -she swiftly said, embarrassment clearly showing in her tone of voice. Arthur just laughed it off.
"Anyway, the coffee is good and hot, feel free to take a sip of it." -he said.
"Alright, I'll go and grab one." -she replied and walked to the coffee pot. Arthur then sat down at one of the tables.
As Charlotte poured herself a cup of coffee, she asked Arthur...
"By the way, where's John?"
"Still sleeping. He had some thinking done last night." -he explained.
"Oh. I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you know what was it about?" -she asked as she walked to the table to sit down as well.
"There's a right time for everything, don't rush." -he said calmly as he took another sip from the coffee.
"Ugh, come on, what's that supposed to mean?" -she looked at him with a puzzled look on her face.
As Arthur was about to open his mouth to speak, John yelled...
"Good morning y'all!" -he greeted them.
"Oh hello, sleepy head!" -Charlotte waved at him.
"Morning, John." -Arthur said as he turned around to glance at him.
John then walked over to the coffee pot and poured himself a cup.
"Why don't you sit down, boy?" -Arthur invited him. Without a word, he sat down next to him.
"So um, I heard Dutch talk about this person called Colm, and something like O'Driscoll. What's the story behind all of these?" -she asked, breaking the silence.
Arthur stopped drinking his coffee the second he heard the name O'Driscoll, but then again, no one ever told her about the rival gang members.
Arthur cleared his throat before saying...
"The story behind them is...complicated, but I'll try my best to untangle it for you. They're our rival gang. It's been like this for some years now, hell, if not for decades, since Dutch and Colm decided to go on...different paths. Vastly different ones. They're never short on ideas to make a fool of us. Them O'Driscoll boys are dangerous." -he explained. "So if you see one with a green bandana around their neck, be careful. " -he added. Charlotte listened silently and heeded Arthur's words.
"Thanks for the explanation." -she said with a smile.
They kept on chatting until they had finished their coffee. Then Arthur went over to Strauss to ask if any debt needed collecting. Which means only John and Charlotte were left at the table.
"Charlotte, would you ride with me? I want to show you something." -John asked as he felt his heart in his throat.
"Oh, sure. I'm willing to do that." -she replied happily.
They both stood up and walked over to their horse but then Javier showed up.
"Good morning! Where are you all going?"
"Just gonna gather some herbs needed for something I want to make. And she's accompanying me." -he replied. Charlotte looked at the ground in hesitation.
Javier looked at Charlotte and then back at John.
"Okay. If you see some mint, would you mind collecting them for me?" -Javier asked.
"Sure, I'll be on the lookout." -John replied. Javier waved at them as he walked away.
"Let's go, shall we?" -John asked Charlotte.
