A month later since moving into the house...
It's a regular evening, the sun is shining bright, painting the sky in a light blue shade. A few clouds can be seen in the sky, but apart from that, it seems clear for now and the wind is gently blowing.
She went into the kitchen to grab her coffee and sat down outside on the balcony, which is facing one of the street's directions, and spent her time just looking around, observing the place.
'This place meets my standards, I guess. Still no snow, though.'
She thought.
The birds were chirping and the people in the village started to increase in numbers. This was the moment when she realized that she needed food to eat. After finishing her coffee, she dressed up, but not what a normal lady would be wearing at that time.
Usually wearing black jeans with a plain white T-shirt and black cowboy shoes. Sometimes she even puts on the iconic cowboy hat, which is also black. Furthermore, she owns a white fur coat made from a cougar which she hunted with her wolf up in the mountains.
She grabbed her satchel and one more bag, in case it was needed, and headed out to the general store. It was five minutes of walking distance. So she didn't have to go that far.
This is completely out of the ordinary for her, because she always needed to fight animals in order to not die of hunger.
She went into the general store, closed the door, and was greeted by the friendly store clerk. After greeting said clerk, she started looking around to buy some canned food, apples, some cookies, and crackers. While browsing she heard the door open as a man stepped in.
She looked only from the corner of her eye to not seem so weird by turning her whole head towards the stranger. She also noticed that he was wearing a worn black hat and had a beard which has not been overgrown, but just a simple stubble.
Charlotte continued to browse for more food to buy when all of a sudden the man bumped into her.
"Oh, sorry, Miss." -he apologized.
"Watch your feet!" -she said rather angered.
The stranger kept on looking at her in silence. She was about to enter flight or fight mode when he spoke up.
"Arthur Morgan." -he lifted his hat.
"Okay, Mr. Morgan." -she responded with one raised eyebrow. He was about to open his mouth to say something, but...
"Charlotte Monroe." -she added.
"Nice meeting you." -Arthur said. She gave him a smile.
Then Arthur started talking about his day, afterward asking Charlotte how her day was. After they both paid for the items they wanted, they left the shop. Walked a few feet away from the store, they were about to say goodbye to each other when Arthur got interrupted by one of his friends.
"Arthur, you have to take a look at this!" -his friend said while holding a map in his hands. She immediately noticed that he was wearing a burgundy colored bandana around his neck.
The black-haired man froze in place once he saw Charlotte, maybe thinking she was a threat to Arthur, and him.
"Err...it's been fun talking to you, Miss, but I have to go now!" -he replied and rushed to his friend.
'Are they what I think they are? If so, this is my opportunity to join them!'
"Mind if I join? That stuff seems to be interesting!" -she said excitedly as she stepped closer to them.
"No way Miss, this is far too dangerous for a woman like you." -said Arthur.
"Oh, I ain't afraid of guns if I have to use them! I know exactly how to fight!" -she replied even more eagerly.
(Little detail: when the characters are talking, instead of 'were' they're always going to be saying 'was', even when there are plurals like: they were. Instead: they was. Also, he doesn't have a family in this version I'm writing. They just don't exist here in this storyline/world.)
