"So, what do you want to talk about?" -she curiously asked with a hand on her hips.
"About you and John." -he said straight.
Charlotte's eyes narrowed.
"What about me and him?"
"I still can't get myself over the thought of you two being together when... I could've had you." -he explained as he looked her straight in the eyes. Charlotte sighed before saying...
"Look, Javier, I understand it's hard for you. But you need to move on from me. Maybe you...deserve better than me. Maybe that's why fate decided to not give me to you. Um, I hope I make some kind of sense right now." -she explained before she scratched the back of her head.Javier fell silent for a few seconds before asking...
"Can I at least have a hug? I will, I swear I will leave you alone after this." -he questioned with a weak smile on his face. Charlotte nodded in agreement. So Javier hugged her tightly, yet gently. She hugged him over his shoulders meanwhile Javier's hands were on her back. After some seconds he let go of her.
"I'll move on from you, señorita." -he explained before he turned around and walked away. Charlotte just stood there, silently, and watched as he walked away.'This must be hard on him. I'm glad we resolved this though.'
She thought to herself before she heard someone call her name.It was Dutch who yelled her name. He appeared to be holding a beer bottle in his hands. She walked over to him out of curiosity.
"We are going to celebrate that you're here with us, Charlotte! Come on, have a drink and enjoy yourself." -he said before he gave her the iconic Dutch pat on the shoulder. She smiled and walked over to the drinks.
The camp's atmosphere has changed to a cheerful one with the music coming from the gramophone. Everyone was having a good time, well, more or less. As she walked around camp with a bottle in her hands, she saw Kieran dancing with Mary-Beth. She couldn't help but smile as she walked by them. When Kieran saw the way Charlotte looked at the two, he immediately said..."This is not what you think, I swear!" -he explained as he continued to dance with her. Mary-Beth giggled as Kieran tried to explain the situation to Charlotte.
"What? I wasn't thinking anything!" -Charlotte chuckled before she walked on by them.
After some time, around 9 pm...
She was just talking with Sadie, Charles, and Uncle when John approached her.
"Hey Missy, I want to talk to you about something! Come with me." -he explained as he was halfway turned around. Charlotte excused herself from the conversation and followed John. They both sat down on the log near the river, and John began explaining...
"After what we've been through, I feel like I have something special to tell you. Because I don't know when life will decide to cut the line." -he began explaining.
Charlotte looked at him silently as she was sitting beside him, curious of what he had to say.
"All I wanted to say is... I look up to you and I adore you to the fullest and..." -he began saying as he looked into her eyes. "I love you, Missy." -he smiled.
Charlotte smiled lovingly before she pulled John closer to her and closed her eyes, their lips almost touching."I love you too, you outlaw." -she whispered before she kissed him softly. John placed one of his hands around her waist, meanwhile, the other hand was holding her face. Charlotte held John's face with both of her hands.
Meanwhile, Arthur and Charles are in the background...
"Am I this drunk or did I just see Marston kiss Charlotte?" -he questioned as he was blinking fast, unable to believe his eyes.
"No, no. I'm seeing this, too. We can't both be this drunk." -he explained. "We should leave them be, though." -he added.
"Yeah, you're right." -Arthur laughed. The celebration went on for quite a while until all of the camp members either landed in their beds or on the ground.
