~Jace, I'm a monster and I might have fallen out of love with you but we promised forever and~ Ara crumpled it up. She focused on her hand trying to harness the elements, the fire. Little sparks flickered in her hand, it wasnt much but it sent the parchment on fire. She moved on to the next on, dipping the quill in the ink pot.
~Jace, hi.~ Sure that was fine. Ara grumbled crossing it out.
~Luke, I miss you hope your training is going well with Verrmax and Arrax and I cant write to Jace because I'm going to either lie or break his heart and I dont want to do either.~
Ara groaned again she crumpled it up and set fire to it easier this time.
~Jace, can I love you both?~ she already knew that was a failure.
~Jace some things you dont say over raven but in person and to keep our relationship alive, I think its best those words are never spoken because I love you, I do. YOu are my oldest friend and my best friend but I'm clearly not as good at distance as you are. I have fallen in love with someone else and it hurts to say because I know a part of me will always love you. I dont want to hurt you which is why this parchment along with the fifty before this and the million after this will be burned in my hands because I dont want to hurt you. Maybe prolonging this is just going to hurt you more or maybe you will find someone else... maybe whatever this is wont last with Aemond. Maybe this is just temporary and when we are back together for good all the doubts running through my mind will fade and I will only see you.~
"I'm a monster," Ara muttered crumpling it up again. "That was too damn harsh." she told herself aggressively.
"I think it was perfect." Helaena corrected and Ara jumped.
"How long have you been standing there?" Ara demanded.
"Long enough to know you love Aemond and not jace." Helaena remarked honestly.
"I do love Jace."
"How many million pieces of parchment did you burn?" Helaena countered and Ara looked to the smoke coming from the burning parchment in her hand.
"A lot. But I just... I can't break his heart."
"YOu are breaking Aemonds and I'm telling you now Ara I'm team Aemond all the way. I want you two together. I want you two happy." Helaena declared. "Dont you want to be happy too?"
"I want to write a damn letter and not break my best friends heart." Ara corrected as she pulled a new parchment towards her.
Ara had started another letter to jace when a butterfly landed on her paper. She stared back at it, its wings flapping but legs resting contently as though the butterfly knew she would not hurt it. Helaena coed in awe as she leaned forward.
"I want to be you, ara." Helaena whispered.
"Torn between two guys? It's not fun."
"Oh, right because having two handsome guys drooling over you is such a travesty." Helaena agreed and Ara turned to face her.
"Sorry." Ara whispered.
"But I wasnt talking about boys, I meant your gifts." Helaena clarified and ara picked up the butterfly and held it out to Helaena.

When ara saw the ravens, the ravens for sending letters she knew they were trapped. Honestly she had meant to send a letter to Jace but she saw them sitting in their little prisons and she don't didn't know what came over her but she had to set them free.
It was like she could hear them here their thoughts their feelings there annoyance of traveling back-and-forth and back-and-forth being the realm slaves in a sense. She decided no more.
Time to be free she declared breaking open the cages.
"Aranyani!" Otto declared.
"Be free my friends be free and fly!" Ara shouted.
"Aranyani!" Otto demanded as they flew off. "What in the seven Heaven's are you doing my sweet girl?"
"They wanted to be free grandfather."
"We don't always get what we want." Otto offered solemnly
"But I could help them and I needed to help them."
