Qualification was bad but the race was even worse. Not for the car or the track itself, but for my terrible mood.
"Can you tell me what the hell is happening now? Kiara, you can't lock yourself behind a wall, not again. Please, we have a few hours before the start of the race. Let's sit and talk about your feelings or your worries, whatever will make you feel better."
Susanne was the first and also the only one to notice my extreme mood change from last night. Not even my parents during the usual prep talk over the phone a few minutes ago noticed anything different about me. Maybe I was a good actress after all.
"My feelings, Suz? Do you really wanna know what is going on in my brain right now? I feel like shit. That's it! After yesterday I'm terrified of going back on this stupid track. And as if it wasn't enough hard, the stupid knee is making me freaking crazy! My feelings, huh? These are my feelings- a huge mess as always!"
I screamed at her without a good reason. I just exploded like a bomb. But as soon as I did, regret washed over me, making me blame myself for all the arrogance and angriness I've let out. Then she didn't deserve my bitchy mood, she just wanted to help me, as she always does.
I sat on the couch in the middle of my driver's room and put my hands over the face, to cover myself from my stupid tears once again.
"Suz, I'm so sorry."
"Hey hey hey, hold on, sweetie. You know that screaming is one of the best way to release the bad vibes. It's okay. Come here."
She sat next to me on the sofa, pulling me in a soft hug and caressing my back.
Suz has always acted like a mother to me, even if she's not that old. It's just that she has always understood me so well, better than anyone else, and somehow, in every situation, she know what's the best for me. She's so special and I'm glad to have her beside me everyday although everything I've said to her.
"Do you wanna do something that will make you feel crazily good?" She asked me with one of her big grin on her face and without thinking one minute more, I nodded. Nevertheless I've never imagined what she had in mind.
In fact screaming on the top of the hospitality building, just upon the crowded paddock, wasn't exactly the first idea that came up in my mind.
"Ok, let me do it once again."
Adrenaline was running into my veins as screaming all the pain, the worries and the bad vibes away, was a very good therapy at the moment.
"They will kick us out, Kiara. And anyway you have to get ready for the race."
"Ok ok, but promise me that after the race we'll do this again, as a price for my good behaviour at the interviews."
"We'll see. For now try to beat some asses on the track and don't mess up with the reporters."
Said so, she walked me back into my room to finally get ready and all suited up, in time for the parade.

Surprisingly the race was pretty good.
I celebrated my unexpected P10 with the team and of course Pierre, who was even more happy than me for the result. Another point for the team, another thousand points for my self-confidence. Everything was perfect, until one question at the media pen.
"So Kiara, tell us: how do you feel about ending the season with the Alpha Tauri team?"
What? Complete the season? What kind of joke is this?
