(Avengers' Tower, Vision's POV)

This feeling is strange......

Unfamiliar......

I cannot tell if this is a safe environment.

What is my purpose?

The one who awakened me. The one with the hammer. There he is, looking like he's going to strike me.

Perhaps he's a threat.

I must remove threats.

I propel myself towards the man, but he grabs my shoulders and tosses me aside.

Glass. Rapidly approaching.

Must stop.

I put my hands out in front of me, and halt mere inches from the glass, and what I see is remarkable.

An android, human hybrid.

A complex matrix of technology, with a human nervous system.

The image of a face projected in my mind. My...... Creator? Manufacturer?

I feel the chill on my body, and create a suit to cover myself with, a cape flowing from the back of it.

Necessary? Possibly not.

Does it have a logical function? No.

Do I like it? Yes. I think I do.

I sense the others staring from behind me, so I slowly turn and go back over to them.

"That was odd......." I say to the hammer-man. "I'm sorry."

"Thor, you helped create this?" There's a man with a large shield. I can detect it is constructed with vibranium.

"I've had a vision," hammer-man is the one they call Thor. "A whirlpool that sucks in all hope and life. And at the centre, is that," he points to my forehead.

"What the gem?" A rough looking man with glasses.

"It's the Mind Stone. One of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power of the universe. It is unparalleled in its destructive capabilities."

"Then why would you bring it to-"

"Because Stark is right."

Stark. The closest thing to my inventor.

"The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron."

"Not alone," I add.

"Why does your 'vision' sound like JARVIS?" Asks the shield man.

"Because we...... Reconfigured JARVIS' matrix to make something new."

"I think I've had my fill of new."

"You think I am a child of Ultron?" I address the shield man.

"You're not?"

"I'm not Ultron. I'm also not JARVIS. I just....... Am."

"I looked in your head and saw annihilation," says the Sokovian girl.

"Look again."

"Listen," Thor puts down his hammer and steps forwards. "The twins' power, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the Mind Stone. And they are nothing compared to what it could unleash. If we have it on our side......."

"Are you?" Shield man looks at me suspiciously. "Are you on our side?"

"I do not think it is that simple. I am on the side of life, Ultron is not. He will end it all."

"What's he waiting for?"

"You."

"He's in Sokovia," says a man I identify as Clint Barton. "He's got Nat there too."

The unkempt one folds his arms and looks at me, "If we're wrong about you, if you're the monster Ultron made you to be......"

"Then what? What can you do?" I look at all the faces before me, taking in each of their features and the genuineness. "I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go."

I pick up Thor's hammer and pass it to him with a friendly smile before walking from the room.
