Sadé's POV:— Last Day Of Detroit Trip, 6pm
Today was my last day here in Detroit before I leave for my flight tomorrow morning to go back home. I wasn't really sad or anything, but I did enjoy my time here. Marshall & I had thought about going to the beach earlier to spend my last day together, but we decided against it considering that we'd both most likely get recognized. More so him than me. So instead, we both chose to stay inside
today and order take out, spending time together. I didn't mind at all honestly. We had been watching movies all day and ordered Chinese takeout.I was now laid on the couch next to Marshall. We were watching 'Scary Movie', but I wasn't really feeling it anymore.
"Marshall, can we do something else?" I piped up.
"Like what?" He asked, pausing the Netflix movie.
"Ummm... I don't know. Let's do something you want to do this time." I shrugged.
"Alright. Let's go play some basketball then." He said getting up from the couch.
"Okay!"
We put our shoes on and made our way to the basketball court on his property.
"First to 10 shots win." He said passing me the ball.
"Okay. I may not be the best, but get ready to loose." I smacked talked him.
"We'll see about that." He smirked.
We both went back and forth trying to steal the ball from each other to take shots. I'm not going to front, he was making me eat my words. He was really good. I mean I knew I wasn't the best at these kinds of sports considering I was a dancer/cheerleader all throughout high school, but dang. I didn't think I was this bad.
Anyways, it was now game point. I had 3 points while he had 9, only needing to make one more shot to win. I went to take a shot, but missed. As soon as the ball exited the hoop he came around and put it right back in. He had made his 10th shot, which meant he had won.
"Wooo! Yea! What was all that smack you was talking earlier, girl?" He exclaimed doing a little victory dance.
"That's not fair! You have a height and strength advantage!" I said putting my hands on my hips.
"Don't hate the player, hate the game." He said while he blew me an air kiss. All I could do was roll my eyes. He's so silly sometimes.
"How about you catch my rebounds while I shoot some hoops instead?" He suggested after settling down.
"Sounds good to me."
So I did just that. We made small talk while I caught the all of his rebounds. I felt content right now. Maybe I would miss spending time here with Marshall after all. Just a little bit. I guess wasn't doing too good at hiding my emotions though because Marshall asked me what was wrong.
"Nothing." I tried to brush the feeling off.
"Sadé." He said sternly.
"Alright." I gave in, passing him the ball. "I'm just thinking about how I have to leave tomorrow. That's all."
"Don't worry about it, Sae. Its not like I'm gonna stop talking to you once you leave."
"I know, but I enjoyed spending time with you..."
"Me too. I'll come visit you or you can even come back up here on the weekends sometimes. I don't mind. It'll be fine." He reassured me, making a basket.
"You're right." I exhaled. I appreciated his words.
The rest of the night went smoothly. This was such a great trip.
A/N: Just a little filler chapter to conclude the whole Detroit Trip situation. The next few chapters are definitely going to stir up some drama though 😈.
